Activision has released a new multiplayer teaser for Call of Duty Ghosts ahead of Infinity Ward’s full multiplayer reveal on August 14.
The multiplayer teaser trailer focuses on the upcoming Ghosts world tour, beginning with the Los Angeles reveal before taking the game to events across Europe and other regions.
The first stop is the global multiplayer reveal at LA Live in Los Angeles on August 14. Activision plans to stream the event through the official Call of Duty website and Xbox Live, giving players their first detailed look at how Infinity Ward is changing the competitive side of the series.
The teaser also lists later appearances including Gamescom in Cologne from August 21 to 25 and the Eurogamer Expo in London from September 26 to 29. Activision’s official world-tour schedule also includes events in Dubai, Sydney, Moscow, Amsterdam, São Paulo, Milan and Paris.
GLN previously reported that Call of Duty Ghosts was confirmed for Wii U in July, completing the current-generation platform line-up alongside Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. The game is also in development for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
From what I can see, the teaser is deliberately withholding almost all of the actual multiplayer detail. Its job is to establish August 14 as the point where Infinity Ward will finally move from broad promises about a new generation of Call of Duty into specific maps, modes, customisation and online systems.
Activision had already revealed one multiplayer feature before this trailer. The Free Fall bonus map uses dynamic environmental events, with the battlefield changing as the match progresses, offering an early indication of how Ghosts will try to make its multiplayer spaces less static.
Call of Duty Ghosts launches worldwide on November 5 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC and Wii U, with Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions following alongside the new consoles.
Later update: The August 14 reveal delivered the multiplayer information this teaser was withholding. Infinity Ward introduced extensive soldier and squad customisation, dynamic map events, new tactical movement, clan support, second-screen features and several new multiplayer modes.
The reveal also confirmed that players could create female soldiers in Call of Duty Ghosts multiplayer for the first time in the series, alongside broader appearance customisation.

Infinity Ward continued expanding on the reveal at Gamescom, where Xbox One dedicated servers and the Blitz mode were confirmed alongside the Chasm multiplayer map.
