Crystal Dynamics has confirmed that Marvel’s Avengers players are in for a treat with the upcoming update that will introduce a new Iron Man suit, completely free of charge. With the game’s live service nature, fans of the action-packed levels are always eager to see new versions of their favorite characters, and the latest addition to the collection will be a missing Iron Man suit that has yet to make an appearance in the game.
Since the release of Marvel’s Avengers, players have had a plethora of cosmetic options to choose from, many of which are available for purchase in the in-game shop. However, Crystal Dynamics has also been generous in gifting free skins to players through pop notifications. The latest skin is a black and silver version of Iron Man, complete with a shoulder-mounted gun that bears resemblance to another Marvel hero.
As a thank-you to all the players who've enjoyed our game since launch, we have a gift for you! 🎁— Marvel's Avengers (@PlayAvengers) March 27, 2023

The Iron Man suit is set to be added to Marvel’s Avengers later this week with the release of patch 2.8. The skin fires beams from its hand canons and shoots rockets from its shoulder weapon, which is a unique ability that typically comes from the Marvel hero’s arms. Fans of War Machine may find the new skin uncanny, as it bears a striking resemblance to the character’s usual design.
Loyalty Is Rewarded
According to Crystal Dynamics, the free skin is a reward for players who have stuck with Marvel’s Avengers since it’s launch and through the news of ending support for the game. With the studio set to stop supporting the game in the near future, some die-hard players may want to unlock the new Iron Man suit on the day of the update release rather than waiting for everything to become available.
Interestingly, some fans have speculated that the new Iron Man suit was initially planned to be part of War Machine’s design in the game, given the similarity between the two characters. It remains to be seen how many more cosmetics Crystal Dynamics will add before the game’s support ends on September 30th, but there are sure to be a few more exciting occasions worth logging in for.
