A Fresh Perspective on Titan: The Setting for Ghosts of the Deep

The 21st season of Destiny 2 is drenched in aquatic motifs, offering thrilling explorations underwater and even introducing a unique activity centred around angling at various destinations across the game. Following the recent inauguration of the ‘Root of Nightmares’ raid, it was hinted that Season 21 would sway from the traditional raid structure and instead, treat players to a new and riveting dungeon activity. This new offering joins the ranks of recent entrants such as ‘Spire of the Watcher’ and ‘Duality.’ With the debut of the season’s first Friday, Bungie has graciously shared the intriguing details that players will encounter.

In this recently released trailer, players are introduced to the newest dungeon, ‘Ghosts of the Deep.’ The trailer, set in the eerie backdrop of Titan, appears to provide a glimpse of a Hive outpost lurking beneath the methane waves. Xivu Arath, Destiny 2’s Hive God of War, who’s mostly been a background antagonist, unlike Calus or Savathun, compellingly narrates the trailer. It reveals fireteams pitted against the Hive and a smattering of taken enemies.

The trailer intriguingly suggests the reappearance of the Lucent Hive lightbearers, an enemy type that ruled the roost during the Witch Queen expansion campaign and its linked seasons. These formidable adversaries, who possess the capability to utilise the light, confer them with abilities and supers akin to the Guardians.

Speculations on the Potential Loot in the New Dungeon

For the time being, the treasure trove of loot that awaits in this dungeon remains shrouded in mystery, including possible weapons that could be encountered during various clashes. It’s still uncertain how these new additions will compare to the current arsenal of Destiny 2 Season of the Deep weapons, like the Distant Pull sniper or Different Times pulse rifle. However, it is plausible to surmise that the Ghosts of the Deep weapons might bear a distinctive visual appeal compared to the Taken-inspired set.

Destiny 2 is readily accessible on Windows PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
