This revelation arrives amid a steadily growing enthusiasm for the franchise, a sentiment further heightened by mechanics, Ubisoft found considerable success with this model, as demonstrated by Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s status as the first Ubisoft game to achieve a $1 billion gross.
AC Mirage’s Day One Release on Ubisoft+ A Strategic Move
Nevertheless, the devs have committed to a stylistic return to the franchise’s roots in future releases. This coincided with the announcement that they’re bringing back the classic stealth features of old.
With the recent gameplay showcase of AC Mirage, it appears that Ubisoft is making good on this promise. Capitalising on this escalating anticipation, the developers have decided to extend the game’s release to its own subscription service.
Ubisoft announced via their official Twitter account that the latest entry would be made available on Ubisoft+ from the get-go, for both PC and Xbox platforms.
Collaborative efforts between Ubisoft and Microsoft have intensified in recent times, with the former providing access to major titles such as AC Origins and Odyssey on Game Pass.
Ubisoft recently introduced Ubisoft+ on Xbox, boasting 65 titles through its Multi-Access plan and hinting that future releases may find their home on additional platforms. Assassin’s Creed Mirage’s arrival on the platform appears to be a strategic push to enhance the attractiveness of their subscription service.
Ubisoft’s Attempt to Recapture the PC Gaming Market
Importantly, Ubisoft+ won’t be the sole platform for PC gamers to gain access to the latest instalment.
The impending game will also be available via the Epic Games Store, although AC Mirage will bypass Steam upon its initial release. It remains uncertain whether the developers plan to launch the game on Steam later in the year.
Regardless, it seems unlikely Ubisoft will altogether exclude Steam, considering the platform has previously hosted the franchise’s latest releases.

The intensive focus on the iconic stealth franchise is not entirely unexpected, given the developers rather lacklustre performance in 2022. As a vital aspect of their strategic roadmap, Ubisoft is augmenting the AC team and intensifying efforts on various projects within the franchise.
The future is yet to unfold for both the series and Ubisoft, but if the Mirage announcement is any indicator, Ubisoft+ appears poised to play a critical role in the company’s growth strategy.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage is slated for release on October 12th for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
