A recent inadvertent reveal may have just given Crash Bandicoot aficionados a reason to break out the party poppers. It appears Activision may have unintentionally let the Bandicoot out of the bag about a potential Nintendo Switch launch for the forthcoming Crash Team Rumble.

Currently, the multiplayer extravaganza is set for almost all other contemporary gaming platforms, leaving the Switch seeming like a wallflower at the gaming party.

Crash Team Rumble: An Unintentional Activision Leak Sparks Excitement

Crash Bandicoot, the long-standing platforming hero, has been enjoying a bit of a revival lately. The N. Sane Trilogy, a sparkling remake of the original adventures, and the release of Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, brought back our beloved marsupial in style.

Following that, Crash Team Rumble came rumbling into view last year, thrusting players into the madcap marsupial world where two squads of four compete in a fruity frenzy for Wumpa supremacy. Yet, the home of merriment, the Nintendo Switch, was oddly left out of the party, until now that is.

A potential leak on Activision’s website has stirred the pot, although it’s unclear whether it’s a genuine leak or an unintentional fumble. On the support page for Crash Team Rumble, Activision gave players some advice for smooth gameplay: keep your systems updated. Interestingly, alongside the instructions for the confirmed PlayStation and Xbox releases, guidance was also provided for updating a Nintendo Switch.

Crash Team Rumble: The Nintendo Switch Version – Mistake or Reality?

The online sleuths in the fandom quickly noticed the message. Alas, it didn’t take long for the page to undergo an edit, with the incriminating Switch information mysteriously vanishing. Without any official word from Activision or Toys for Bob, we can’t confirm if this was an innocent mix-up or a premature slip about a future Nintendo Switch launch.

However, if Crash Team Rumble can run on the PS4 and Xbox One, it’s reasonable to think that the Switch should be up to the task. And given the recent Crash Bandicoot titles on the Switch, it’s clear there’s a captive audience waiting in the wings, bolstering the argument for the game’s introduction on the hybrid console.

Crash Team Rumble Nintendo Switch Version Leaked

For now, Switch owners must hold their breath and keep their fingers crossed for a Crash comeback. While simultaneous game releases across platforms are fairly common these days, the Switch often has to wait its turn. There was recently a closed beta for the title that went down well within the gaming community.

Given the game’s appeal to a younger and fresh-faced audience, a perfect fit for the Switch’s demographics, it makes a lot of sense. So, even if there’s no immediate plan for a Switch version, hopefully, the excitement generated by this recent “leak” could prompt Activision and Toys for Bob to consider a Switch version in the not-too-distant future. This leak seems pretty conclusive that it’s just a matter of time before an announcement.

The excitement mounts as Crash Team Rumble gears up for launch on June 20th, 2023, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
