Entering its fourth year of live service, Battlefield 2042 aims to sustain its revitalised momentum with the ambitious Season 7: Turning Point update launching next Tuesday, March 19th. DICE has officially unveiled a tantalising array of new content headlined by a fresh map set in the Chilean desert and the return of a Battlefield fan-favourite location.

The marquee addition is the new Haven map, an urban sprawl nestled in the harsh Atacama Desert of Chile in South America.

Promising plenty of close-quarters battles amid destructible suburban environments, Haven looks primed to sate players’ appetites for gritty, unpredictable infantry combat.

Hourglass Centrepiece Map Reborn

While not an entirely new creation, the Qatar Stadium map resurrects the iconic centrepiece originally found in Battlefield 2042’s Hourglass level before it underwent changes.

This sprawling arena should reignite memories and cater to fans of that classic battleground when it arrives later in S7.

A slate of powerful new armaments also joins the fray in Turning Point.

Hearkening back to Battlefield 4, the AK 5C assault rifle and SCZ-3 submachine gun make their return alongside the DFR Strife light machine gun. However, the Predator SRAW guided missile launcher may steal the show, granting surgical destruction capabilities.

An unmanned XFAD-4 Draugr aerial bomber will provide potent air support further into the season.

Season Rewards Galore

As with prior seasons, Turning Point features a meaty 100-tier battle pass with a plethora of free and premium rewards.

The free track offers 30 unlocks like new weapons, vehicles, gadgets and cosmetic skins, while the premium pass expands to 70 tiers of rewards including 20% seasonal XP boosts. Dedicated players can also snag an Ultimate upgrade with 20 tier skips.

Sweeteners for Returning Players

In a savvy move to reactivate lapsed players, Year 1 pass owners will instantly claim any missed Season 5 and 6 battle pass gear simply by logging in during Season 7. Comprising the VHX-D3 AR, G428 DMR, BFP.50 handgun, the YUV-2 Pondhawk vehicle, as well as the latest medical supplies, ammo pouches and grenade variations.

Coupled with a free play window for all platforms starting from March 21-24, DICE appears determined to reignite interest in their latest entry through low-friction progression pathways.

Gameplay Tuning Inbound

Beyond fresh content, Turning Point also encompasses gameplay refinements like overhauled visual recoil systems to improve weapon feedback and defined class roles.

While DICE remains tight-lipped on other tweaks, expectations are high for a steadier gameplay experience following the FPS’s rocky debut.

With an avalanche of new environments to explore, armaments to master, and rewards to chase, Battlefield 2042’s Season 7: Turning Point update represents an ambitious pivot as the live service enters its latest ambitious chapter. Both returning and new players have ample incentives to dive headfirst into the refreshed action come March 19th.
