Based on the classic Chinese novel Journey to the West, Black Myth: Wukong is steeped in rich cultural mythology.
The game is powered by Unreal Engine 5 and will support a wide range of cutting-edge graphics features on PC, including ray tracing and DLSS 3.5.
This highly anticipated RPG leverages full ray tracing to elevate visual fidelity, rendering lighting, reflections, and shadows with unparalleled realism. Water surfaces become dynamic mirrors, accurately reflecting the surrounding environment, while intricate water caustics mimic the interplay of light and water with stunning precision.
Global Illumination is meticulously calculated in real-time using ray tracing, resulting in lifelike lighting conditions both indoors and outdoors. On PC the graphics will look absolutely insane and you can tell by today’s released footage, that the attention to detail just looks absolutely remarkable.
The trailer showcases the protagonist’s ability to transform and utilise a variety of spells and magical abilities to take on the game’s diverse array of enemies, from smaller foes to colossal beasts.
Players will need to mix and match their combat strategies to find the approach that best suits their playstyle.
Originally slated to launch across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, Black Myth: Wukong is now set to release on August 20th for PC and PS5.
Surprisingly, the Xbox version has been delayed as it requires more time for optimisation and does not currently have a confirmed release date.
For those looking to experience the title’s stunning visuals and challenging combat firsthand, there was a a playable demo released at Gamescom 2023 last year that you can download on your console/system to test out the title.
