Epic Reveals Fortnite Ranked Reload Mode

Fortnite Ranked Reload Mode

Key Highlights:

  • Fortnite introduces Ranked Reload mode on 24 September.
  • New mode includes building-enabled and Zero Build options.
  • Free ranked skin available with the content update.

Epic Games has announcedFortnite Ranked Reload competitive mode launching on September 24th. This addition responds to the community’s desire for a more structured competitive environment within the popular Reload game mode.

Ranked Reload will feature both building-enabled and Zero Build variants, catering to different playstyles within the Fortnite ecosystem.

According to reliable leaker iFireMonkey on X/Twitter, the mode will support Duos and Squads, offering a range of tactical options for players.

The Reload mode, introduced in June 2024, has quickly become a fan favourite with its fast-paced, 40-player lobbies and unique respawn mechanics.

Players can reboot as long as one teammate remains alive, with eliminations speeding up the respawn process.

This dynamic shifts in the late game, creating intense final moments as reboots are disabled.

The real reason it’s become so popular though, is the fact that it incorporates OG Fortnite with iconic POI’s like Tilted Towers and Retail Row included in the mode.

Adding a ranked element to Reload promises to create a more competitive environment, allowing skilled players to test their mettle against equally matched opponents.

This move aligns with Epic’s broader strategy of diversifying Fortnite’s competitive landscape.

In a generous move, Epic is offering a free ranked skin to players who participate in Ranked Reload, as reported by leaker Hypex. This incentive is likely to drive significant engagement with the new mode upon release.

The introduction of Ranked Reload follows the success of the first Reload Cup, held at TwitchCon on 22 September 2024.

The tournament, won by Pro players Zemie and Crackly, featured a $5,000 prize pool and hinted at Epic’s intentions to further develop competitive play within the Reload format.

Players can look forward to more tournaments centered around this format, potentially including in-game cash cups and even integration into future FNCS seasons.

The legendary Stark Rifle is currently in the weapon pool again for the Marvel themed Chapter 5 Season 4 after making it’s return since the season of Mongraal in Ch2S4.

Why is this important? Well many fans are calling for an OG Marvel themed FNCS, but Epic (for once) are ignoring their fans. This is unlike the devs to do this which may mean they have something up their sleeve. This move today will only add more hype to the reality of an OG FNCS actually happening in the near-future too.

There’s currently a Day of Doom LTM out right now, running up until October 4th.
