This announcement brings a fresh dose of excitement to long-time fans of the series, offering a thrilling challenge and unique content.
Max Valliant: A Legendary Adversary
Max Valliant, once among the ICA’s most skilled operatives, is revealed to be alive after being presumed dead for two decades.
Now operating from the ICA’s Chongqing facility, Valliant presents a formidable foe for Agent 47.
Players are tasked with escorting an ICA board member while ensuring Valliant is permanently eliminated, a mission that promises high-stakes action and strategic gameplay. Van Damme shared his enthusiasm, describing the mission as “thrilling” and filled with surprises for players to uncover. As a nod to his action film legacy, fans can expect a blend of iconic moves, including Van Damme’s famous split, within the gameplay.
This isn’t the first time the movie star has crossed over into gaming, late last year the Belgian martial artist appeared as a playable skin for the Mortal Kombat character Johnny Cage.
When to Take the Shot
The Splitter mission goes live on 12th December 2024 and will remain available until 12th January 2025.
The challenge is accessible as part of the Free Starter Pack for new players (except on Nintendo Switch) and as a regular Elusive Target for existing World of Assassination players.
For those wanting more, the Splitter Pack DLC will also launch on 12th December, retailing at £3.99. It includes:
- Permanent access to a two-level Arcade contract featuring The Splitter.
- The Splitter SMG and Kukri Knife, adding tactical variety.
- Cosmetic upgrades inspired by The Splitter, such as the “Good Quar Vol. 3” VHS tape for the Freelancer Safehouse.
The Season of The Splitter
IO Interactive has further sweetened the deal with the Season of The Splitter, a free content update launching alongside the mission.
It includes new challenges, returning Elusive Targets, featured contracts, and Twitch-based perks.
Additionally, the game’s PS5 Pro patch will enable a locked 60fps performance and 4K resolution (3840 x 2160), ensuring a smooth and visually stunning experience for players.
The stealth title is also now available on iPhone and iPad, with controller support included.
Even nearly four years after its release, Hitman 3 – now rebranded as Hitman: World of Assassination, continues to captivate players through regular updates and new challenges.
Following high-profile Elusive Targets like The Disruptor (portrayed by Conor McGregor), Van Damme’s inclusion not only amplifies the game’s star power but also signals IO Interactive’s commitment to keeping its world alive and engaging. The developers recently released a statement that revealed the removal of all Hitman game content featuring the MMA fighter as per a court ruling.
From cinematic thrills to tactical precision, the addition of Jean-Claude Van Damme ensures Hitman remains the gold standard in stealth-action gaming.
