Marvel’s Fantastic Four are officially joining the Fortnite roster this week, arriving just ahead of their film debut, Fantastic Four: First Steps.
Fans of the iconic superhero team will be able to purchase skins for Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch, and The Thing starting July 25th at 8 PM ET / 1 AM BST. But those keen to get in early will have one chance to do so by competing in the Fantastic Four Cup on July 23rd.
Unlike previous crossover tournaments, this one focuses on Squad play.
Participants will have three hours to compete in up to 10 matches. A Victory Royale earns 62 points, with lower placements earning progressively fewer.
While only the highest-ranking teams in each region will unlock all four skins early, every participant can earn themed cosmetics through playtime alone. Surviving 60 minutes unlocks an “It’s Clobberin’ Time” spray featuring the Thing. Playing for 120 minutes rewards an emoticon inspired by the Human Torch, seemingly drawn in Jack Kirby’s classic art style.
To qualify for the full skin bundle early, players must place in the top brackets for their regions.
Europe’s cutoff is the top 1,650 squads, North America Central’s is 1,100, while most other regions, including Asia, Brazil, and the Middle East will require players to finish in the top 250.
Each character brings more than just a new look. Epic Games has designed unique features that represent their powers and personalities.
Johnny Storm’s outfit includes a built-in “Flame On” emote that transforms him into his blazing Human Torch form, paired with the Torch’s Flame Pickaxe. Ben Grimm unlocks his stone-skinned alter ego, the Thing, as an alternate style. Reed Richards comes with the Fantastic Fists Pickaxe and a themed “Fantastic Calculations” emote. Meanwhile, Susan Storm features a universal Psionic Orbs Pickaxe, echoing her psionic abilities.
The community response so far has been largely positive. Fortnite players have praised the visual quality of the skins and their faithfulness to the film’s cast.
Unlike the shocking look used in the Thunderbolts crossover, this collaboration leans into the cinematic aesthetic. That change appears to have resonated well with players.
With the Fantastic Four now added to Fortnite’s ever-growing Marvel line-up, the list of missing characters continues to shrink.
Still, there are dozens of fan-favourite heroes and lesser-known variants left untouched. Given Disney’s strong partnership with Epic Games, fans can likely expect more Marvel arrivals in the future.
