Capcom Drops New Resident Evil Requiem Trailer 2

Grace Ashcroft's hand reaches towards a glowing light on a dark wall, promoting "Resident Evil: Requiem, Trailer 2" in bold text above.

Key Highlights:

  • Resident Evil Requiem Trailer 2 premiered during Nintendo Direct and confirms a February 27, 2026 launch across major platforms.
  • Trailer 2 returns players to a ruined Raccoon City and introduces new enemies plus a visible Umbrella Corporation logo.
  • Gameplay is shown in first-person while cinematics adopt a third-person presentation.

Capcom’s second trailer for Resident Evil Requiem landed in the Nintendo Direct showcase and sharpened the picture of what fans should expect. The footage shows more action from Grace Ashcroft, it returns the series to Raccoon City, and it teases the Umbrella Corporation’s return.

The horror title has a release date of February 27, 2026 and is heading to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam.

Visually and tonally the trailer leans heavy into unsettling set pieces. Viewers get a slow walk down a hallway toward a mysterious woman in a white dress, a hotel maid striking her face against a mirror, and a cryptic male figure lounging in an armchair who speaks directly to Grace. The iconic police station and other ruined civic landmarks are briefly visible, underscoring the game’s Raccoon City setting.

Importantly, gameplay appears in first-person while story cutscenes and set-piece moments switch to third-person cinematics, a hybrid approach that plays to both immersion and cinematic storytelling.

I’ve made my thoughts clear, that camera split is a smart design move. First-person delivers immediacy in exploration and combat, while third-person cinematics let the developers stage moments with cinematic clarity and character framing. It’s worth noting, that this was only for the trailer, players can select whether to play in first or third person with a simple menu option. We learnt this in the first real gameplay reveal back in June.

The trailer’s reveal of the Umbrella Corporation logo raises stakes beyond isolated horror set pieces and invites speculation about wider biohazard conspiracies, the possible involvement of organisations like the DSO or B.S.A.A., and even strong rumours that Leon S. Kennedy might appear at some point.

Trailer 2 doesn’t answer those questions, but it makes the scope of RE Requiem feel both personal and franchise-scale at once.

Overall Trailer 2 rewires expectations for the next chapter: it keeps Resident Evil’s survival horror roots intact while promising a story tied deeply to the series’ mythology.
