  • Capcom has released a free Resident Evil Requiem demo three months after launch.
  • The demo is available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2 and PC.
  • Players can experience the opening sections featuring Grace Ashcroft and Leon S. Kennedy.

Capcom has released a free demo for Resident Evil Requiem, giving players a chance to try one of 2026’s biggest survival horror games without purchasing the full release.

Available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2 and PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store, the demo arrives three months after Resident Evil Requiem launched in February and went on to become a major commercial success.

According to Capcom, the trial version lets players experience part of the game’s opening chapters, although progress made in the demo cannot be transferred to the full game.

I have already explored the demo and can confirm it begins with FBI analyst Grace Ashcroft waking up suspended upside down inside the Rhodes Hill Chronic Care Center. The playable section also includes a brief sequence featuring series veteran Leon S. Kennedy before he hands the Requiem gun over to Grace.

The demo offers a glimpse at the different playstyles of both protagonists while also introducing one of the game’s standout creatures. It should also give players a chance to test performance across platforms before deciding whether to purchase the full release.

Fans of the long-running survival horror series are already looking forward to Resident Evil Veronica which has been confirmed as the next instalment in the franchise. Clair Redfield returns, and will be the new protagonist that is confirmed to be third-person only.

Resident Evil Requiem has already surpassed seven million copies sold worldwide, with Capcom previously confirming that the game’s strong sales have helped improve the company’s financial outlook.

For anyone still curious about the latest entry in the series, the free demo is now available to download across all supported console platforms and PC via Steam and EGS.
