PlayStation Plus December 2025 Adds Five Games (Available Now)

Key Highlights:

  • Sony has released five free PS Plus games for December 2025, a larger lineup than usual for the holiday period.
  • Neon White stands out as the highest rated title, with a 99% critic recommendation score.
  • A PS5 upgrade of Red Dead Redemption also joins PS Plus Extra and Premium as an off schedule bonus.

Sony has rolled out December’s PlayStation Plus lineup, and it’s one of the bigger holiday drops the service has offered in recent years. Five games are available to claim from 2 December through 5 January: Killing Floor 3, LEGO Horizon Adventures, Neon White, Synduality: Echo of Ada and The Outlast Trials.

It’s a noticeable jump from the usual three game format, framed by Sony as part of its festive promotions on the PlayStation Store.

Neon White is the clear standout. The lightning fast FPS and platformer hybrid landed among 2022’s best reviewed titles, securing an OpenCritic average of 89 and a near perfect 99% recommendation rate. It also holds the highest user score of the month’s selection, edging ahead of The Outlast Trials, which has also drawn strong praise from horror and co op fans.

LEGO Horizon Adventures offers a brighter contrast, retelling the events of Zero Dawn with a lighter tone, while Killing Floor 3 and Synduality: Echo of Ada round out the action heavy end of the list.

This month’s roster may mark the end of an era. Only two of the five titles support PS4, and Sony has already confirmed that PS4 games will begin phasing out of the PS Plus monthly lineup from January 2026.

Whether that shift impacts the basic monthly offerings or first appears in the Extra and Premium catalogues remains to be seen.

Subscribers on those higher tiers get an extra perk this week. A new PS5 edition of Red Dead Redemption has joined the Game Catalog as a surprise off schedule addition. This upgraded version includes sharper shadows, refined motion blur, HDR support and expanded draw distance, with resolution bumped from 720p to 4K. It retains 60 FPS on PS5, as the previous PS4 version already did when played on newer hardware, but adds better loading times and DualSense appropriate prompts.

A few early bugs have been reported, including missing NPCs in cutscenes and trophy issues when loading PS4 saves, though Rockstar has not addressed these yet as of the timing of this writing.

If you haven’t already, make sure to claim November’s offerings before they expire for good.

The expanded December selection gives players a little more breathing room across genres, and the inclusion of one of 2022’s highest rated games should help the month land well with subscribers. The next big change arrives in January, when Sony’s PS4 strategy for the service becomes clearer.
