Key Highlights:
- PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium add 10 games in August 2026, led by Helldivers 2 and Kingdom Come: Deliverance II.
- UK, US and Japanese subscribers get another staggered rollout, with five Game Catalog titles delayed until 25 August.
- Dying Light 2 has an unusual double PS Plus presence because it is already an August Monthly Game before joining the Extra Game Catalogue.
Sony has revealed the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium Game Catalog additions for August 2026, with Helldivers 2, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II and Vampire Survivors among the month’s biggest games.
Helldivers 2 is already available worldwide after joining the Game Catalog on 12 August. Kingdom Come: Deliverance II and Vampire Survivors follow on 18 August, alongside the two Premium classics.
Subscribers in the UK, US and Japan then receive another five Extra titles on 25 August: Hell is Us, Umamusume Pretty Derby – Party Dash, Two Point Museum, Metro Exodus and Dying Light 2. Sony only assigns that later date to those three markets, with its announcement otherwise listing 18 August as the availability date.
The full August schedule is:
| Game | Platform | UK/US/Japan availability | Tier |
|---|---|---|---|
| Helldivers 2 | PS5 | 12 August | Extra/Premium |
| Kingdom Come: Deliverance II | PS5 | 18 August | Extra/Premium |
| Vampire Survivors | PS5, PS4 | 18 August | Extra/Premium |
| Hell is Us | PS5 | 25 August | Extra/Premium |
| Umamusume Pretty Derby – Party Dash | PS4 | 25 August | Extra/Premium |
| Two Point Museum | PS5 | 25 August | Extra/Premium |
| Metro Exodus | PS5, PS4 | 25 August | Extra/Premium |
| Dying Light 2 | PS5, PS4 | 25 August | Extra/Premium |
| Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams | PS5, PS4 | 18 August | Premium |
| Disney’s Atlantis: The Lost Empire | PS5, PS4 | 18 August | Premium |
Sony’s staggered Game Catalog experiment has therefore continued into a third consecutive month. Games Latest News first documented the change in June, when the UK, US and Japan began receiving selected Extra and Premium games on different dates rather than one monthly drop. Sony retained the system in July and explicitly said it was still “exploring new ways” to deliver Game Catalog titles in those markets.
I think the continued staggered schedule is becoming more significant than the individual monthly experiment because three consecutive line-ups now show Sony is willing to move away from the traditional single Game Catalog release day in selected countries.
Helldivers 2 is August’s first arrival and coincides with Arrowhead’s Devoid of Liberty update. The update expands the Illuminate conflict into the Void with new missions, mutated enemies and additional secondary objectives. Players can also progress through 300 security ranks.
Arrowhead is running a separate community challenge alongside the PS Plus release. Players have until 18 August to collectively eliminate 500 million enemies, with four PlayStation avatars available if the target is reached.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance II creates another interesting PlayStation Plus sequence. The original Kingdom Come: Deliverance joined PS Plus Extra in June 2026, meaning Sony is following it with the sequel only two months later.
There is also an unusual situation involving Dying Light 2.
Sony already selected Dying Light 2 Stay Human: Reloaded Edition as one of August’s PlayStation Plus Monthly Games. Essential, Extra and Premium members can claim it from 4 August until 31 August. The same game is then being added to the Extra/Premium Game Catalog on 25 August in the UK, US and Japan.
The distinction matters because the two PS Plus systems provide different forms of access. A Monthly Game can be claimed during its availability window and remains playable while the player’s qualifying PS Plus membership remains active. Game Catalog titles are instead available while they remain part of the catalogue. Sony’s own PlayStation Plus service page separates Monthly Games from the Extra/Premium Game Catalog as different membership benefits.
Dying Light 2 is also not new to the Game Catalog. Sony previously added the Reloaded Edition in November 2024, making August 2026 another catalogue appearance for Techland’s open-world sequel.
Premium members receive two older PlayStation games this month.
Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams brings the 2006 PS2 action game to PS5 and PS4. The game follows Soki during Toyotomi Hideyoshi’s rule and was originally the fourth main entry in Capcom’s Onimusha series.
Disney’s Atlantis: The Lost Empire returns from the original PlayStation. Sony says the PS5 and PS4 release includes up-rendering, rewind, quick save and custom video filters, giving the 2001 game several emulator-level conveniences on modern consoles.
August’s Game Catalog announcement is separate from the month’s PlayStation Plus Monthly Games. Dying Light 2 Stay Human: Reloaded Edition, Big Walk and Signalis became claimable for all eligible PS Plus subscribers on 4 August and remain available until 31 August.
