Key Highlights:

With Halloween approaching, Silent Hill 2 Remake is scheduled to leave PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium on Tuesday, 20 October, giving subscribers just over a month to finish Bloober Team’s horror remake through the Game Catalogue.
The timing is unusually neat in another way. Silent Hill 2 joined the Game Catalogue on 21 October 2025, meaning it will disappear almost exactly one year after Sony added it as one of that October’s headline releases.
Current Last Chance to Play listings point to eight games leaving on 20 October:

That is one more than some early reports listed, with Harvest Moon: Light of Hope Special Edition also appearing in the updated removal line-up. Sony notes that PlayStation Plus catalogue line-ups can differ by region, so subscribers should still check the Last Chance to Play section on their own account before the deadline.
There is also an important difference between some of these removals.
Yakuza: Like a Dragon was offered as a PlayStation Plus Monthly Game in August 2022, while Jurassic World Evolution 2 was included in June 2023. Players who claimed those Monthly Game versions during their original availability can continue playing them while maintaining an eligible PlayStation Plus membership, rather than depending on their current Game Catalogue listings.
Silent Hill 2 does not have that safety net. Its PlayStation Plus availability came through the rotating Extra and Premium Game Catalogue, so once it leaves, having the game downloaded does not preserve access. Sony’s guidance states that access to downloaded Game Catalogue content ends when that content leaves the service.
I think that entitlement difference is more useful than simply looking at the size of the removal list. Two subscribers can see the same game disappearing from the catalogue but end up with completely different access afterwards depending on how and when they originally claimed it.
Silent Hill fans also have another reason to pay attention to the calendar. Silent Hill: Townfall launches on September 24, leaving almost four weeks between the new game’s arrival and Silent Hill 2 disappearing from PlayStation Plus.
For anyone who would rather keep permanent access, the UK PlayStation Store currently has Silent Hill 2 for £23.99, down 60% from its normal £59.99 price. That offer is listed as ending at 22:59 UTC on 23 September, well before the PlayStation Plus removal date.
Sony has not yet announced the October 2026 Extra and Premium additions. Its latest official Game Catalogue announcement remains September’s selection, which added games including RuneScape: Dragonwilds, WWE 2K26 and Slitterhead.
