  • Launches July 24, 2023, across all platforms with themed Fighting Pass rewards.

Capcom has officially announced that Rashid will be the first downloadable character added to Street Fighter 6. The acrobatic fighter, who made his debut in Street Fighter 5, is set to join the roster on July 24, 2023. His arrival was confirmed in a new gameplay trailer showcasing his wind-powered attacks and fast-paced movement.

Street Fighter 6 launched with 16 playable characters, blending returning favourites like Ryu, Ken, and Chun-Li with newcomers such as Jamie, Marisa, and Kimberly. Rashid’s inclusion marks the beginning of Capcom’s planned DLC roadmap, which will expand the cast throughout the year.

In the reveal trailer, Rashid demonstrates his trademark parkour-inspired fighting style, incorporating agile flips, spinning kicks, and tornado-based projectiles. His moveset looks familiar to long-time fans but benefits from Street Fighter 6’s new mechanics, offering fluid animations and more aggressive combo potential.

Rashid’s character retains his upbeat personality and flair for showmanship, often recording and streaming his battles in-game. His alternate costume, inspired by his Street Fighter 5 design, is included alongside a series of themed Fighting Pass rewards leading up to release.

While Rashid’s return has been well received, competitive players remember him as one of the trickiest opponents in SF5, known for relentless pressure and evasive manoeuvres. His reappearance is expected to add a new layer of unpredictability to online matches.

Since joining the roster, Rashid has remained a popular pick among tournament players, making frequent appearances in Capcom Cup 2024 brackets thanks to his mobility and offensive versatility. His technical depth has helped solidify him as a mainstay of the Street Fighter 6 competitive scene.

Rashid’s release leaves three additional DLC fighters yet to be revealed for Street Fighter 6’s first season pass.

Street Fighter 6 is available now on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
