Resident Evil 4 Remake Grand Hall Blue Medallions Guide

Key Highlights:

  • The Grand Hall Blue Medallions request appears in Chapter 9 of Resident Evil 4 Remake.
  • Leon must destroy six medallions located across the Grand Hall, Armory, Dining Hall and Gallery.
  • Finishing the request grants players five Spinels that can be traded with the Merchant.

After entering the Grand Hall in Chapter 9 of Resident Evil 4 Remake, Leon can pick up a Merchant Request that asks him to destroy six Blue Medallions hidden throughout the surrounding rooms. The Blue Request Note beside the Merchant highlights targets across the Grand Hall, the Dining Hall, the Armoury and the upper Gallery. Reading it adds map markers, allowing players to clear every room in a single loop.

Where to Find the Blue Request Note

Inside the small room just south of the Grand Hall, the Merchant has set up shop beside a Typewriter. The Blue Request Note rests on the table beside the Typewriter, and interacting with it logs the request and places markers on the map. I always read this one immediately since the medallions sit in areas you naturally pass through while solving the Chimera statue puzzle. Use the map below as a guide to find out the exact location.

A helpful map of the Grand Hall

Medallion #1 – Eastern Archway (Grand Hall)

The 1st is hanging from an archway

The first medallion hangs in plain sight from an archway along the eastern wall, just left of the door leading back to the Courtyard. Check the map marker and keep an eye out for its bright blue glint.

Medallion #2 – Central Chandelier (Grand Hall)

The objective is circled (See Image)

Step onto the second-floor balcony overlooking the Grand Hall. The next medallion is hidden within the metal frame of the large central chandelier. The easiest angle is from the balcony railing, where the chandelier’s supports are fully exposed.

Medallion #3 – Chimera Pillars (East Wall)

The 3rd is resting between these two pillars

Approach the Chimera statue on the eastern side of the Grand Hall. Look towards the two pillars beside the Chimera plinth, where the third medallion hangs between the column supports. Move a little closer for a clean shot without obstruction.

Medallion #4 – Nestled Among Velvet Drapes

Again, refer to the circled objective in the attachment

Enter the octagonal Armoury while searching for the Lion Head. Head upstairs to the balcony where Ashley waits by the ornate chair. Medallion four is tucked behind the drapes above Ashley’s chair, partly hidden by the fabric folds.

Medallion #5 – Dining Hall Patterned Drapes

The 5th is located in the Dining Hall

Over in the lavish Dining Hall, the next one conceals itself behind the vibrant drapes of the window nearest all the portraits. Check the northern wall and blast it down through the fabrics.

Medallion #6 – Dangling From a Pillar Below the Goat Statue

The conclusive segment is in the Gallery area

Lastly, inside the two-tiered Gallery room, a medallion hangs from a pillar along the southern wall, beneath the disturbing Goat Head statue display. Face north from the nearby sunken bridge to find it.

Clearing the Grand Hall medallions whilst navigating the Chimera statue puzzle gets you 5 Spinels as a reward from the merchant. They’re especially helpful if you are improving the Red9, Blacktail, or the Riot Gun before triggering the Armoury fight or moving into the Gallery battle in RE4 Remake.
