Three notable PlayStation 3 releases arrived in the UK on 8 February 2013, led by Dead Space 3 alongside Fist of the North Star: Ken’s Rage 2 and BioShock: Ultimate Rapture Edition.
Dead Space 3 continued Isaac Clarke’s fight against the Necromorph threat while introducing John Carver as a co-op partner. The game could still be played solo, but its drop-in/drop-out co-op mode added extra story details, side missions and gameplay sequences when a second player joined.
Fist of the North Star: Ken’s Rage 2 also launched on PS3 that week. Developed by Omega Force, the sequel returned to the manga-inspired post-apocalyptic setting with large-scale combat and an expanded character roster.
BioShock: Ultimate Rapture Edition completed the week’s main PS3 releases. The collection bundled BioShock and BioShock 2 together with downloadable content including Minerva’s Den, The Protector Trials, Rapture Metro and Challenge Rooms, plus additional bonus material.
All three games were released in Europe on 8 February 2013. Their North American schedules differed, with Dead Space 3 and Fist of the North Star: Ken’s Rage 2 launching there on 5 February, while BioShock: Ultimate Rapture Edition had already arrived in North America in January.
