Ubisoft has released the first gameplay trailer for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, giving players an early look at Edward Kenway’s life as a pirate and Assassin during the Golden Age of Piracy.
The trailer follows Edward across the Caribbean, showing naval battles, tropical islands, underwater exploration and encounters with historical pirates including Blackbeard and Calico Jack. Ubisoft describes Edward as a pirate trained by Assassins who commands his own crew while pursuing wealth and infamy across the West Indies.
First Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Gameplay Trailer
The newly released footage is the first trailer Ubisoft has specifically presented as a gameplay reveal for Black Flag.
Players can see Edward fighting on land, commanding ships at sea, diving underwater and exploring tropical environments. The footage also provides a broader look at the naval systems that are becoming a much larger part of the Assassin’s Creed experience.
Ubisoft is continuing to build out the game’s pre-release campaign, with another AC Black Flag trailer later focusing on the Golden Age of Piracy and Edward’s place within it.
