Prominent AEW wrestler Kenny Omega is whetting the appetite of fans with tempting hints of more exhilarating content for AEW Fight Forever. This includes an intriguing blend of additional characters to get to grips with, and novel match formats to test your mettle.
Almost three years have passed since All Elite Wrestling’s riposte to the WWE 2K series was declared, aided by the abundant expertise of renowned wrestling simulator developer, Yukes. The game, leaning towards a nostalgic, pared-down style of play, has provoked varied reactions. Some enthusiasts have lauded its refreshing simplicity and retro appeal, whilst others have voiced dissatisfaction with the technical glitches experienced on PS4 and the perceived shortfall of features compared to WWE 2K23.
Kenny Omega: A Driving Force Behind AEW Fight Forever
Kenny Omega, a pivotal figure in the arduous journey of AEW Fight Forever’s development, is an in-ring maestro and Executive Vice President of All Elite Wrestling. He’s been unequivocal about his love for gaming, and his influence has shaped many defining elements of Fight Forever. Post-release, Omega has been instrumental in fuelling ongoing dialogues and gaining player feedback on the game’s multifarious, and sometimes contentious, aspects.
Teasing the Future: Stadium Stampede Mode and More in AEW Fight Forever
In a recent chinwag with Uproxx, Omega shed light on AEW Fight Forever’s future, alluding to an imminent influx of enticing content. He confirmed the introduction of the Stadium Stampede mode – a multiplayer, battle royale-style match format that surfaced in leaks after the game’s launch. Omega also hinted at a broader scope for character creation and an extended lineup of wrestlers, yet he played coy on the finer details. “There is always going to be additions to this game,” Omega assured during the interview. “You haven’t seen anything yet. You’ve seen a little bit, but you haven’t seen a lot of things that I’m very excited for.”

Omega also tantalisingly suggested potential inclusions of wrestlers from Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling in the title. As it stands, there’s a guarantee of six new characters through DLC, including the reigning AEW Tag Team Champions, Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood. They’ll make their debut in the forthcoming “Elite Edition” expansion.
Recently the exploding barbed wire deathmatch was revealed by the developers and got fans going crazy! These couple of game modes are just the start too, there will be plenty more showcased in the coming months ahead.
In the wrestling gaming realm, AEW Fight Forever is seen as a commendable initial offering from the fledgling promotion, evoking a sense of nostalgia reminiscent of classic games like WWF No Mercy. However, many believe the game has room for evolution. Fortunately, it appears that THQ and Kenny Omega share this sentiment, as the game’s roadmap suggests a wealth of future content, including exciting novelties like Stadium Stampede and potential collaborations with Ring of Honor and NJPW.
