The countdown is on for the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 on November 10th. As is tradition before any new COD game, Activision will be hosting an open beta weekend for fans to get a sneak peek at the multiplayer action. This weekend marks the start of the MW3 beta test, beginning first for PlayStation players.

MW3 Beta Progression and Rewards Revealed

According to a recent tweet from the trusted Call of Duty news source CharlieIntel, details have emerged about the progression system and rewards available during the beta. It seems there will be 30 levels for players to work through, with exciting goodies to unlock at each tier. Check out the tweet below for a full breakdown of all the gear up for grabs!

Looking ahead to the full game, GameSpot shared intel on the impressive arsenal players can expect. Over 30 weapons are set to be included, with fan favorites like the ACR assault rifle and Renetti pistol making a triumphant return from past Modern Warfare games. The popular Gunsmith feature will also be back, giving players expanded customization options to trick out their weapons.

PlayStation Players Score Exclusive Content – Pre-Order for Bonuses

PlayStation users will get additional perks for pre-ordering Modern Warfare 3 digitally from the PS Store. Sony revealed players will receive the Lockpick Operator pack, containing a stylish knife blueprint called the Starry Knife and an SMG blueprint for the American Gothic. Exclusivity has its privileges!

Zombies mode is shambling back into action with some enticing new features, as showcased in a haunting new trailer. For the first time, Zombies will factor into Modern Warfare’s overarching narrative. The action will take place in an open world landscape with PVE combat. Lone wolves can go solo, or team up in squads of up to 6 to take on the undead hordes. Zombies will also include story missions and progression between matches, adding a new layer of cohesion and rewards.

War Mode Returns

Lastly, the classic multiplayer mode War is back in the mix. War matches pit Attackers versus Defenders on large-scale maps. Defenders take on objectives like escorting tanks, securing capture points, and stopping missile launches. Attackers have to use every strategy to halt the Defenders’ progress in their tracks. It’s an epic tug-of-war battle!
