Bungie recently revealed more details on the Destiny 2 annual Halloween event, Festival of the Lost, which kicks off on October 17th. A new trailer showcases upcoming modes, cosmetics, weapons, and the “Eerie Engrams” focusing mechanic debuting this year.

Festival of the Lost has expanded over the years since its 2015 debut, adding more elaborate activities and collectibles. Bungie is further enhancing the 3-week event for 2023, as outlined in their promotional materials.

New Eerie Engrams Allow Focusing Gear Like Exotic Armor

A major addition is Legendary difficulty Lost Sectors offering greater challenges for more rewards like the new Eerie Engrams. These consumable engrams can be instantly opened for drops or used to focus at vendor Eva Levante for specific legendary and exotic gear.

This new “Hocus Focusing” system allows concentrating Eerie Engrams into targeted exotic armour category rewards. Players can even earn previously unacquired exotics this way.

Among the highlight exotic pursuits are the Creepy Crawlies armour sets voted on by fans, transforming each class into horror themes. New emotes, ornaments like the Rhulk mask, and weapons like the Acosmic grenade launcher also join returning gear from past Festivals.
