At the heart of F1 24 lies a meticulous recreation of all 24 circuits from the 2024 F1 calendar.

However, Codemasters has gone the extra mile, dedicating resources to rebuilding and improving several iconic tracks to ensure they match their real-world counterparts with unparalleled accuracy.

Silverstone, the hallowed ground of British motorsport, has undergone a comprehensive overhaul, with every bump, kerb, and elevation change meticulously crafted to mirror the actual circuit.

Meanwhile, the infamous Spa-Francorchamps has received a significant facelift, with updates to the legendary Eau Rouge and Raidillon corners, a brand-new grandstand, and revisions to the “No Name” corner and Bus Stop chicane.

But it’s not just the tracks that have received a makeover. F1 24 boasts meticulously rendered driver likenesses, with improved hair rendering, skin shaders, and eye details that bring these athletes to life like never before.

Every strand of Carlos Sainz’s flowing locks has been painstakingly recreated, ensuring that the drivers look as authentic as the circuits they race on.

In a move that is sure to excite fans, Codemasters has expanded the roster of iconic drivers available in the game.

Joining the current crop of Formula 1 stars are legends like 1976 world champion James Hunt and the ever-charismatic Juan Pablo Montoya.

On the other hand, the inclusion of the controversial Pastor Maldonado has raised a few eyebrows, considering he’s hardly a legendary name let alone an icon.

Immersive Driver Career Mode

One of the most exciting features of F1 24 is the ability to step into the racing boots of not just the current Formula 1 drivers, but also the F2 field and the newly added iconic drivers.

Players can now embark on a multi-season Driver Career mode, taking their chosen racer through the highs and lows of the sport, forging their path to greatness.

To further enhance the immersive experience, Codemasters has incorporated audio samples from real-life broadcasts, which will play contextually during key moments such as crossing the finish line or in the aftermath of a high-speed crash.

Underpinning these visual and gameplay improvements is an update to the EGO engine, which now features Ray-Traced Dynamic Diffuse Global Illumination technology.

This cutting-edge lighting system promises to elevate the game’s visuals to new heights, with improved lighting, shadows, and reflections that blur the line between virtual and reality.

Game publishers EA (Electronic Arts) just recently released 14 minutes of gameplay for the upcoming racing title. Go check that out if you haven’t already. In the meantime, there should be more trailers revealed in the coming weeks and months ahead so stay on the look-out.

F1 24 has been set a release date of May 31st 2024, so there’s just under 2 and a half weeks to go as of the timing of this writing. When is does arrive, it’ll be heading to Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS5, PS4 and PC.
