PS Plus Extra subscribers will have access to nine new games starting July 16th 2024. The list includes a mix of recent releases and popular titles from various genres:

PS Plus Extra Full Lineup

  1. Remnant II (PS5 only)
  2. Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII – Reunion (PS4/PS5)
  3. Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord (PS4/PS5)
  4. The Jackbox Party Pack 9 (PS4/PS5)
  5. Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous (PS4/PS5)
  6. No More Heroes 3 (PS4/PS5)
  7. Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes Complete Edition (PS4)
  8. Deadcraft (PS4)
  9. Steep (PS4)

Here’s a brief explanation of some standout games:

  • Remnant II is a co-op action game set in a post-apocalyptic world. It’s known for its challenging gameplay and is often compared to ‘Souls-like’ games.
  • Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII – Reunion is a remaster of a PlayStation Portable game. It’s a prequel to the famous Final Fantasy VII and tells the story of Zack Fair, an important character in the FF7 universe.
  • The Jackbox Party Pack 9 is a collection of five party games that can be played with friends using smartphones as controllers.

PS Plus Premium subscribers get an extra treat with four classic titles added to the service:

  1. Job Simulator (PSVR2)
  2. Summoner (PS2)
  3. Ratchet and Clank Size Matters (PSP)
  4. Jeanne d’Arc (PSP)

It’s worth noting that while most games are available on both PS4 and PS5 thanks to backwards compatibility, Remnant II is exclusively for PS5 users. This highlights Sony’s ongoing shift towards supporting its latest console generation.

The addition of Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII – Reunion is particularly noteworthy. The Final Fantasy series has a long standing history with the PlayStation brand, and this game serves as an important part of the Final Fantasy VII story.

Its inclusion in PS Plus Extra could be seen as preparation for the recently released Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, the next part in the FF7 Remake project.

PS Plus Extra gives access to a large library of PS4 and PS5 games, similar to a “Netflix for games”.

Meanwhile, PS Plus Premium includes everything in Extra, plus classic games from older PlayStation consoles and game streaming options.

There’s Something for Everyone This Month

These new additions showcase Sony’s commitment to providing a varied gaming experience for its subscribers.

From action-packed adventures like Remnant II to party titles like The Jackbox Party Pack 9, there’s something for nearly every type of gamer.

The inclusion of classic titles in the Premium tier also caters to those who enjoy gaming history or want to revisit old favourites.

Job Simulator for PSVR2 is an interesting addition, potentially aimed at encouraging more players to try out virtual reality strategy gaming.

With these new additions, PlayStation Plus subscribers have plenty to look forward to in July 2024. Whether you’re into RPGs, action games, party games, or retro titles, there’s likely something in this lineup that will pique your interest.
