Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League Hits Rock Bottom Price on Steam

Key Highlights:

  • Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is discounted to £2.80/$3.26 on Steam via Fanatical.
  • The Deluxe Edition costs £4.20/$4.66 and includes cosmetics, weapons, and a Battle Pass token.
  • Sale ends August 22, offering players a final chance to try Rocksteady’s divisive live service title.

Superhero action-adventure shooter Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has dropped to its lowest price ever, with Steam players able to grab the standard edition for just £2.80/$3.26 through Fanatical. The Deluxe Edition is also heavily reduced at £4.20/$4.66, bundling Justice League-themed outfits, Notorious weapons, and a Battle Pass token that unlocks seasonal content. The deal ends August 22nd, making this the best chance yet for anyone who was waiting for a deep sale.

Released in early 2024 by Rocksteady Studios, the team best known for the Batman: Arkham trilogy, the game was one of Warner Bros.’ biggest experiments with the live service model.

Instead of a tightly-crafted single-player experience, Kill the Justice League focused on online co-op, ongoing seasons, and cosmetic-driven updates.

While that shift initially promised longevity, it quickly became clear the game was struggling to retain players.

Across its short lifespan, Rocksteady added four extra villains – Joker, Mrs. Freeze, Lawless, and Deathstroke – each introduced in seasonal updates. But despite these efforts, community sentiment remained low.

By January 2025, less than a year after launch, the game was officially shut down as a live service. Thankfully, both online and offline play remain available, so players who pick it up in this sale still get access to the full story campaign and multiplayer features.

From a critical standpoint, the gameplay loop was repetitive and the monetisation-heavy structure did it no favours. However, speaking as someone who has played every Rocksteady release since Arkham Asylum, the studio’s ability to build engaging combat systems and character interactions is still here—it’s just buried under a format that didn’t suit their strengths.

At $70, this Suicide Squad game was hard to recommend to anyone. At under $5, it’s difficult to argue against at least trying it, especially for DC fans curious to experience Rocksteady’s take on the Suicide Squad. If you ask me, I’d definitely recommend it at this crazy price!

Though this lowest price yet is for PC users, the title has its lowest price ever on Xbox recently too, where it was 90% off for 24 hours only. With this kind of trend, one would suspect that PlayStation will get this sort of basement price at some point too in the near future.

This discount also arrives at a fitting moment, with James Gunn’s Superman film having launched just weeks ago to strong reception. For DC enthusiasts looking to bridge into gaming, this deal serves as a cheap entry point into Rocksteady’s vision of the DC universe, even if it’s not their finest work.

The bigger picture for WB Games is more concerning. Gotham Knights underwhelmed in 2022, Rocksteady’s live service gamble failed, and EA’s Black Panther game cancellation earlier this year left Marvel fans deflated.

The prevailing rumour is that Rocksteady will return to its Batman roots next, which would be a welcome reset. Until then, this fire-sale price on Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League represents both a closing chapter for Rocksteady’s live service ambitions and a bargain for players willing to overlook its flaws.
