Warner Bros. and NetherRealm Studios have revealed Mortal Kombat fighter Scorpion as the next downloadable character for Injustice: Gods Among Us.
The trailer shows Scorpion fighting several members of the DC roster while retaining familiar attacks including his spear and teleport.
His appearance has been redesigned for Injustice by DC Entertainment co-publisher Jim Lee rather than simply carrying over his existing Mortal Kombat costume.
Scorpion becomes the third downloadable fighter announced for Injustice: Gods Among Us, following Lobo and Batgirl joining the roster as DLC.
The video also reveals a Blackest Night costume for Superman and ends with a brief glimpse of Martian Manhunter, although NetherRealm has not announced him as a playable character at this stage.
Scorpion will cost £3.99 or $4.99 through PlayStation Network and 400 Microsoft Points through Xbox Live. Warner Bros. has not yet announced a release date, while DLC for the Wii U version is expected later this summer.
Later update: Warner Bros. subsequently confirmed that Scorpion would be released on 11 June 2013. He later became one of six additional playable fighters included with Injustice: Gods Among Us Ultimate Edition.
