Omni-Man joined Mortal Kombat 1 as the first Kombat Pack guest fighter, bringing Nolan Grayson’s Viltrumite strength, flight and ruthless fighting style from Invincible into the roster. His moveset is built around overwhelming physical attacks, aerial pressure and special moves including Mega Clap, Giblet Maker and Viltrumite Stance.
Omni-Man has two character-specific Fatalities, the Hail Mary Animality, The Klassic and seven character-specific Brutalities. Four are tied to his condensed Fighter Mastery progression, while three more were added later alongside the Khaos Reigns era of Mortal Kombat 1.
How to Perform Omni-Man’s First Fatality in MK1 (Trained Killer)
Input Distance: Close to Sweep Distance
Execution Difficulty: Easy
- PlayStation: ⬇️, ⬇️, ⬅️, 🅾️
- Xbox: ⬇️, ⬇️, ⬅️, 🅑
- Nintendo Switch: ⬇️, ⬇️, ⬅️, 🅐
Trained Killer recreates one of the most infamous scenes associated with Omni-Man. He grabs the defeated fighter, flies them into the path of an oncoming underground train and uses their body to tear through the passengers inside.
The useful range is more forgiving than the standard Close label suggests. Trained Killer can activate from directly beside the opponent out towards Sweep Distance, so there is no need to stand almost on top of them before entering the input.
How to Perform Omni-Man’s Second Fatality in MK1 (Like Putty)
Input Distance: Jump Distance
Execution Difficulty: Easy
- PlayStation: ⬇️, ➡️, ⬅️, 🅧
- Xbox: ⬇️, ➡️, ⬅️, 🅐
- Nintendo Switch: ⬇️, ➡️, ⬅️, 🅑
Like Putty has Omni-Man overpower the opponent at close quarters before violently destroying their head and body with his bare hands.
Positioning is more important here than with Trained Killer. Although some move lists broadly describe the Fatality as Mid range, Jump Distance is the more reliable starting position. Establish the gap first, then enter the four-button sequence without moving closer.
Important: Omni-Man can also perform the Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Winter Fatalities if they are unlocked on the player’s account. These seasonal Fatalities are not unique to Omni-Man and can be performed by other playable fighters.
How to Perform Omni-Man’s Animality in MK1 (Hail Mary)
Input Distance: Sweep Distance to Full Screen
Execution Difficulty: Easy
- PlayStation: ➡️, ⬅️, ➡️, ⬇️
- Xbox: ➡️, ⬅️, ➡️, ⬇️
- Nintendo Switch: ➡️, ⬅️, ➡️, ⬇️
Hail Mary transforms Omni-Man into the enormous creature of the same name from Invincible. The monster crushes the opponent before biting through their body and finishing the transformation sequence with its tentacles.
Unlike most finishers with a comparatively narrow activation point, Hail Mary has an unusually large working range. Once Omni-Man is approximately Sweep Distance away, the Animality can still activate from much farther across the arena, including Full Screen.
The transformation is also unusual because Hail Mary is not simply a real-world animal chosen to represent Omni-Man. It directly brings an established creature from the Invincible universe into Mortal Kombat 1.
For the animal transformation used by every other playable fighter, see our complete Mortal Kombat 1 Animality guide.
All Omni-Man Brutalities in Mortal Kombat 1
Omni-Man has The Klassic and four character-specific Brutalities tied to his condensed Fighter Mastery progression. Behind You!, Coming Through, You Got Boned! and You Hear That? unlock at Mastery Ranks 1, 4, 7 and 11 respectively.
His Brutality collection later expanded with Split End, Destroyed and Around The World, bringing Omni-Man to seven character-specific Brutalities alongside the universal The Klassic.
The Klassic
Unlock Requirement: Available by default
- PlayStation: ⬇️ + 🔺
- Xbox: ⬇️ + 🅨
- Nintendo Switch: ⬇️ + 🅧
Final Hit: Uppercut
Additional Condition: Hold Back Punch during the Final Hit.
Omni-Man performs the traditional Mortal Kombat uppercut and removes the opponent’s head.
Hold Back Punch as the Uppercut connects rather than pressing and releasing the button normally.
Behind You!
Unlock Requirement: Fighter Mastery Rank 1
- PlayStation: L1 or ⬜ + 🅧
- Xbox: LB or 🅧 + 🅐
- Nintendo Switch: L or 🅨 + 🅑
Final Hit: Armageddon (Back Throw)
Additional Condition: Hold Down during the Final Hit.
Omni-Man performs his Armageddon Back Throw and twists the opponent’s head around before dropping the body.
Begin holding Down once the Back Throw has started. The Forward Throw is not interchangeable here because the Final Hit specifically needs to come from Armageddon.
Brutality Variation: Instead of holding Down, hold Up + Back Punch immediately after initiating the Back Throw to trigger the universal MK11-style Screen Throw Brutality. The opponent is thrown towards the camera and cracks the screen.
Because both Brutalities begin from the Back Throw, the follow-up input determines which finishing sequence activates.
Coming Through
Unlock Requirement: Fighter Mastery Rank 4
- PlayStation: ⬅️, ➡️, 🔺
- Xbox: ⬅️, ➡️, 🅨
- Nintendo Switch: ⬅️, ➡️, 🅧
Final Hit: Giblet Maker
Additional Condition: Hold Front Punch during the Final Hit.
Coming Through turns Omni-Man’s Giblet Maker into a Brutality, with the Viltrumite smashing straight through the defeated fighter on impact.
Once Giblet Maker begins, keep Front Punch held. There is no additional directional requirement after the special move connects, so trying to add another direction can make a simple Brutality unnecessarily difficult.
You Got Boned!
Unlock Requirement: Fighter Mastery Rank 7
- PlayStation: ➡️ + 🅾️, ⬜, ⬜ + 🅧
- Xbox: ➡️ + 🅑, 🅧, 🅧 + 🅐
- Nintendo Switch: ➡️ + 🅐, 🅨, 🅨 + 🅑
Final Hit: Spilled Kontents
Additional Condition: Press Down three times during the Final Hit.
Omni-Man finishes Spilled Kontents by destroying the opponent with the final slam rather than allowing the normal Kombo animation to finish.
Enter the three Down inputs as the finishing sequence connects. Waiting until the opponent has already hit the ground can leave too little time for the Brutality trigger to register.
Brutality Variation: You Got Boned! has a hidden alternate ending. After entering Down three times, immediately hold Stance + Block as the Brutality begins.
- PlayStation variation: L2 + R2
- Xbox variation: LT + RT
- Nintendo Switch variation: ZL + ZR
The alternate sequence changes the finish by having Omni-Man rip the opponent’s skeleton from their body.
You Hear That?
Unlock Requirement: Fighter Mastery Rank 11
- PlayStation: ⬅️, ➡️, ⬜
- Xbox: ⬅️, ➡️, 🅧
- Nintendo Switch: ⬅️, ➡️, 🅨
Final Hit: Mega Clap
Additional Condition: Hold Back during the Final Hit.
You Hear That? converts Mega Clap into a lethal finishing attack, with the shockwave stripping the defeated opponent apart.
Keep Back held as Mega Clap connects. Because Back is also part of the initial special-move input, continuing to hold it through the impact is easier than attempting to re-enter the direction after the attack has already started.
Split End
Unlock Requirement: Added with the Khaos Reigns-era Brutality expansion
- PlayStation: Jump Forward + ⬜, 🔺, ⬜ + 🅧
- Xbox: Jump Forward + 🅧, 🅨, 🅧 + 🅐
- Nintendo Switch: Jump Forward + 🅨, 🅧, 🅨 + 🅑
Required Form: Airborne
Final Hit: Bootstain
Additional Condition: Hold Down during the Final Hit.
Split End uses Omni-Man’s aerial Bootstain Kombo. He drives the opponent into the ground and splits their body apart when the finishing hit lands.
The timing of the held Down input is more important than the move list makes obvious. Do not begin holding Down as soon as the aerial Kombo starts because the directional input can interfere with Omni-Man’s movement and lead into Viltrumite Stance.
The more reliable approach is to complete the opening Bootstain inputs and begin holding Down as Omni-Man leaves the top of the screen immediately before the final downward attack.
Seasonal Store Brutalities
Omni-Man received two additional Brutalities through the Seasonal Store. Destroyed and Around The World sit outside his Fighter Mastery progression and remain usable once acquired.
Destroyed
Unlock Requirement: Seasonal Store
- PlayStation: ⬅️ + ⬜, ⬜
- Xbox: ⬅️ + 🅧, 🅧
- Nintendo Switch: ⬅️ + 🅨, 🅨
Final Hit: Kontemptuous Backhand
Additional Condition: Hold Back during the Final Hit.
Destroyed modifies the short Kontemptuous Backhand Kombo. Instead of knocking the opponent away normally, Omni-Man’s final strike destroys their upper body.
The input is only two attacks long, so the main requirement is maintaining Back through the finishing hit rather than trying to add the direction after the second Front Punch has already connected.
Around The World
Unlock Requirement: Seasonal Store
- PlayStation: ⬜, 🔺, 🔺
- Xbox: 🅧, 🅨, 🅨
- Nintendo Switch: 🅨, 🅧, 🅧
Final Hit: Planet Pillager
Additional Condition: Hold Forward during the Final Hit.
Around The World transforms Planet Pillager into one of Omni-Man’s more elaborate Brutalities. The finishing attack sends the opponent’s severed head away before it eventually returns to collide with Omni-Man.
The most reliable approach is to hold Forward from the beginning of the Planet Pillager string and maintain it through the final hit. Waiting until the third attack before holding Forward gives the activation condition less time to register.
