Homelander brings the leader of The Seven from The Boys into Mortal Kombat 1, combining superhuman strength, flight and heat vision with an aerial-heavy fighting style. His moveset makes extensive use of Laser Eyes, Diabolical Dash and Flight, giving his finishers plenty of opportunities to lean into the character’s most recognisable abilities.
Homelander has two character-specific Fatalities, the Let Freedom Wing Animality, The Klassic and seven character-specific Brutalities. Five Brutalities belong to his Fighter Mastery progression, while Almost Got Away and Top Heavy were added later during the Khaos Reigns era.
How to Perform Homelander’s First Fatality in MK1 (Winging It)
Input Distance: Sweep Distance to Jump Distance
Execution Difficulty: Easy

Winging It launches the opponent into the path of a passenger aircraft before Homelander sends them through one of its engines. He then watches as the damaged plane begins falling from the sky.
The useful activation range starts around Sweep Distance and extends towards Jump Distance. I would establish Sweep Distance first rather than moving close to the opponent, as there is plenty of room for the Fatality to activate without precise positioning.
How to Perform Homelander’s Second Fatality in MK1 (This Is Your Fault)

Execution Difficulty: Easy

This Is Your Fault focuses entirely on Homelander’s heat vision. He cuts through the opponent’s legs, burns through their head and then bisects what remains with another concentrated blast.
The same practical range applies here as Winging It. Sweep Distance gives you a straightforward reference point, while the Fatality remains valid considerably farther away as you approach Jump Distance.
Important: Homelander can also perform the Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Winter Fatalities if they are unlocked on the player’s account. These seasonal Fatalities are not unique to Homelander and can be performed by other playable fighters.
How to Perform Homelander’s Animality in MK1 (Let Freedom Wing)
Input Distance: Sweep Distance to Full Screen
Execution Difficulty: Easy

Let Freedom Wing transforms Homelander into a red, white and blue griffin. He tears into the opponent from the air before finishing the transformation with a concentrated burst of heat vision.
The Animality has a much larger working range than Homelander’s Fatalities. Once you are roughly Sweep Distance away, the input remains valid all the way to Full Screen.
The griffin also avoids simply turning Homelander into another eagle. Peacemaker already has Eagly as a defining part of his character, so Homelander instead received a more fantastical flying creature while retaining the red, white and blue imagery associated with him.

All Homelander Brutalities in Mortal Kombat 1
Homelander has The Klassic and five character-specific Brutalities unlocked through Fighter Mastery. What Happens If?, Shhh…, Squeeze The Truth, I’ll Laser Everyone! and Eye Exam unlock at Mastery Ranks 1, 4, 7, 11 and 18 respectively.
Almost Got Away and Top Heavy were added later as two additional Brutalities outside his original Fighter Mastery progression.
The Klassic
Unlock Requirement: Available by default

Final Hit: Uppercut
Additional Condition: Hold Back Punch during the Final Hit.
Homelander performs the traditional Mortal Kombat uppercut and removes the opponent’s head.
Keep Back Punch held as the Uppercut connects rather than releasing it immediately after the attack.

What Happens If? turns Homelander’s Hear No Evil clap into a Brutality, rupturing the opponent’s ears and leaving them to collapse from the damage.
Keep Front Punch held as Hear No Evil connects. The Brutality does not require an Enhanced version or additional directional input.
Brutality Variation: Performing What Happens If? against Kenshi triggers a unique Homelander voice line referencing the Blindspot scene from The Boys. No additional button input is required for this character-specific variation.
Shhh…

Final Hit: Enhanced Dirty Trick
Meter Requirement: At least one bar of Super Meter
Additional Condition: Hold Forward during the Final Hit.
Shhh… requires the Enhanced version of Dirty Trick. Homelander drives his arm through the opponent and quietly finishes them at close range.
The meter requirement is the part most likely to cause this Brutality to fail. A normal Dirty Trick can still defeat the opponent, but it cannot activate Shhh… because the Final Hit specifically has to come from Enhanced Dirty Trick.
Hold Forward as the Enhanced attack connects rather than waiting for the finishing animation to begin.
Squeeze The Truth
Unlock Requirement: Fighter Mastery Rank 7

Squeeze The Truth modifies Homelander’s See No Evil Kombo, with the finishing grab destroying the opponent’s eyes before they collapse.
Complete the Kombo normally and begin holding Down as its final portion connects. There is no separate special move to perform once See No Evil has started.

I’ll Laser Everyone! turns Heroic De-Escalation into a heat-vision execution. Homelander slices through the opponent’s head and torso before entering his victory pose.
Hold Forward through the final Back Punch rather than adding the direction after the Kombo has already finished.
This Brutality also has two hidden victory-pose variations.
Brutality Variation 1: Hold Down + Stance + Block during the Brutality to make Homelander finish by drinking milk.

Eye Exam

Required Form: Airborne
Final Hit: Vought Drop
Additional Condition: Hold Front Kick during the Final Hit.
Eye Exam requires the airborne Vought Drop. Homelander brings the opponent back towards the ground before burning through their face with his heat vision.
Being airborne is mandatory. Entering the same directional sequence from the ground will not produce the required Vought Drop, so get Homelander into the air before starting the input.
Once Vought Drop connects, keep Front Kick held through the Final Hit.
Seasonal Store Brutalities
Homelander received two additional Brutalities through the Seasonal Store during the Khaos Reigns-era finisher expansion. Almost Got Away and Top Heavy sit outside his Fighter Mastery progression and remain part of his current Brutality collection.
Almost Got Away
Unlock Requirement: Seasonal Store

Final Hit: Up Up And… (Back Throw)
Additional Condition: Press ⬇️, ⬇️, ⬇️ during the Final Hit.
Almost Got Away uses Homelander’s Back Throw. He takes control of the opponent before slamming them down hard enough to destroy their upper body.
Make sure you actually perform the Back Throw rather than the standard Forward Throw. Once Up Up And… begins, enter Down three times during the animation.
Brutality Variation: Instead of pressing Down three times, hold Up + Back Punch immediately after initiating the Back Throw to trigger the universal MK11-style Screen Throw Brutality.
Because Almost Got Away and the Screen Throw begin from the same Back Throw, the follow-up input determines which Brutality activates.
Top Heavy

Final Hit: Backhanded Praise
Additional Condition: Hold Forward during the Final Hit.
Top Heavy modifies Homelander’s short Backhanded Praise Kombo, destroying the opponent’s upper body when its second attack lands.
This is one of his simpler additional Brutalities because the Kombo already begins with Forward. Keep holding Forward through the Back Punch rather than releasing the direction after the opening Front Punch.
