Closed beta applications are now being distributed by Namco Bandai for their upcoming racing simulator Ridge Racer: Driftopia. The beta testing is only for the PlayStation 3 version of the racer. The game features the classic Ridge Racer gameplay with a focus on drifting, and allows players to customise their cars and compete in online multiplayer races.
There’s no info to suggest exactly when the PS3 beta will begin, or how many they’re willing to take on. You can apply to enroll by signing-up on the official PlayStation website and filling out the quick form. Potential gamers who want to sign-up must note that you’ll need to have a PSN account first.
Driftopia is the follow-up to Ridge Racer: Unbounded and is currently being produced at Bugbear Entertainment studios. The game will not be launched on Microsoft’s Xbox 360 console as it stands, and a release date has not yet been disclosed by Namco Bandai.
