At the very start of the RE4 Remake Leon has very little in the way of health and you must build that up over time. The great news is that Leon can enhance his health and adapt to damage, resulting in a significant boost to his overall health. With a fully upgraded HP, Leon becomes nearly impervious to most attacks, with the exception of boss fights.
RE4 fans who are OG and played the original may be aware that yellow herbs can increase Leon’s maximum health, but what they may not know is that the remake offers additional methods to do so. Apart from healing potions, Leon can consume a mysterious bug or don a bizarre hat to increase his HP.
The RE4 Remake Health Boosting Guide: How to Max Out Leon’s HP
Leon’s maximum health can be increased in multiple ways in the horror remake. One method is by consuming healing potions that contain yellow herbs, while another is by eating Rhinoceros Beetles. Alternatively, wearing body armour or the Chicken Hat can also boost overall health. Consuming potions or beetles extends Leon’s HP bar, while protective suits decrease the damage he receives.
Consume Healing Potions That Contain Yellow Herbs
To fully upgrade the health bar, the most effective method is to combine yellow herbs with red or green herbs. Although yellow herbs cannot be consumed on their own, they greatly enhance Leon’s strength when mixed with other herbs. In total, 12 yellow herbs must be consumed to achieve the maximum health upgrade.
Make Sure To Consume Rhinoceros Beetles
Players can find three Rhinoceros Beetles throughout playing, which are described as valuable treasures. Contrary to the description, consuming them can actually increase the player’s maximum HP. However, since they sell for a high price, it’s recommended to keep hold of them for selling in the first playthrough and only consume them in New Game +.
Make Use Of Chicken Hats And Protective Armour
Wearing the body armour or Chicken Hat can’t directly increase Leon’s HP but they can certainly reduce the damage he takes from enemy attacks. This protection extends to various forms of assault, including bullets, melee attacks, and projectiles, making it easier for the player to survive in combat.
The current iteration of Resident Evil 4 is out now and can be played on various platforms including Windows PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
