Red Dead Online’s Latest Update for Naturalists and Adventure Seekers
In a thrilling update to Red Dead Redemption 2, players are being encouraged to embrace their inner naturalist with a host of exciting rewards and bonuses.
Running until 29th July, this update for Red Dead Online offers a golden opportunity for cowboys and cowgirls to explore the wilder side of the frontier.
At the heart of this update is a focus on wildlife conservation and study. Players are urged to swap their usual firearms for a Varmint Rifle loaded with non-lethal sedative ammunition.
By doing so, they can take part in ‘Sample Sales’, a activity where players tranquillise animals, collect samples, and sell them to the game’s resident naturalist, Harriet Davenport.
For their efforts, players will receive triple the usual in-game currency (RDO$) and experience points (XP).
Weekly Bonuses and Unique Rewards
But the rewards don’t stop there. Each week in July brings a new bonus for completing Sample Sales:
- 2nd – 8th July: White Strickland Boots
- 9th – 15th July: Half-price offer on a Camp Tent
- 16th – 22nd July: Half-price offer on the Deluxe Campfire
- 23rd – 29th July: White Carver Pants
Triple Rewards in Free Roam Events
For those who enjoy group activities, the update brings good news. Naturalist Free Roam Events, which include tasks like protecting legendary animals, tagging wild animals, and wildlife photography, will also offer triple rewards.
These events are a great way for players to work together and earn substantial bonuses.
The update isn’t just about nature, though. Players can earn triple XP for their Ability Cards by taking part in any Free Roam Event.
These cards give characters special abilities, so this is a great chance to power them up quickly.
Celebrate Patriotic Holidays with Free Items
To celebrate upcoming patriotic holidays, players who log in between the 2nd and 8th of July will receive a free Rebellion Poncho.
Other free items are up for grabs too. Complete an Animal Sighting Mission to earn a Burned Town Treasure Map, or finish a round of Wildlife Photography for a blue Owanjila Hat.
Dedicated players who complete their Daily Challenges for five days in a row will be rewarded with a stylish red Eberhart Coat.
Fashion-conscious cowboys haven’t been forgotten either. The red, white, and blue Patterned Bandana is back on sale, along with the Covington Hat, Tied Pants, Ortega Vest, and Woodland Gloves. These items will be available at a discount until 29th July.
Double Rewards in Featured Series
For those who prefer a bit more action, the Featured Series offers double RDO$ and XP throughout the month. Each week brings a new game mode:
- 2nd – 8th July: Hardcore Most Wanted
- 9th – 15th July: Hardcore Plunder and Spoils of War
- 16th – 22nd July: Hardcore Overrun
- 23rd – 29th July: Team Gun Rush
Telegram Missions, which players can access from their Satchel, Camp Lockbox, or Player menu, are offering double Gold, RDO$, and XP.
These missions often involve dangerous tasks, so the extra rewards are well-earned.
Lastly, for those looking to clean up the frontier, clearing out Gang Hideouts will earn triple XP for the next four weeks. It’s a great chance to level up while ridding the West of troublemakers.
Make sure you’re carrying the best guns with you whilst carrying out all these important missions.
This update to Red Dead Online offers something for every type of player, from peaceful naturalists to action-seeking gunslingers.
Whether you’re studying wildlife, competing in fast-paced game modes, or hunting down bandits, there are plenty of rewards to be earned. So saddle up, partners – adventure awaits in the wild frontier!
