T-1000 Brings Terminator 2’s Liquid Metal Horror to Mortal Kombat 1
Mortal Kombat 1 is set to receive one of its most exciting guest characters yet, as NetherRealm Studios officially unveils the T-1000 as part of its latest DLC.
Featuring the iconic likeness and voice of Robert Patrick, this iteration of the cybernetic assassin is packed with signature moves, callbacks to Terminator 2: Judgment Day, and a brutal Fatality that reimagines the film’s famous chase sequence.
T-1000’s Move Set and Fatality
The gameplay trailer showcases the T-1000’s signature liquid metal abilities, allowing him to morph his limbs into deadly weapons akin to Baraka and Kabal. His moves include:
- Blade and Hook Arms: The T-1000 can transform his hands into sharp melee weapons for devastating strikes.
- Liquid Metal Evasion: A unique ability where he momentarily turns into liquid metal to dodge attacks before reforming.
- Rising Uppercut: A move reminiscent of Killer Instinct’s Glacius, where the T-1000 liquifies and emerges from the ground in an uppercut.
The Fatality is a brutal homage to Terminator 2, featuring the T-1000 driving a truck in pursuit of his opponent before morphing out of the driver’s seat to deliver a lethal barrage of gunfire.
Madam Bo Joins as a Surprise Kameo Fighter

In addition to the T-1000’s reveal, NetherRealm surprised fans by announcing Madam Bo as a Kameo fighter.
Originally appearing as a minor NPC in Mortal Kombat 1’s story mode, she is now a fully playable assist character.
Madam Bo is known for her agility and powerful close-range attacks, which will complement various fighting styles in the game. Madam Bo briefly appears in the trailer, providing an assist attack during the T-1000’s battle against Johnny Cage.
Her inclusion adds depth to the roster of Kameo fighters, allowing players to create new assist combinations.
Release Dates and Kombat Pack 2 Details
The T-1000 and Madam Bo will be available from 18th March for players who own the Khaos Reigns expansion, with general availability starting on 25th March. The T-1000 marks the final character in Khaos Reigns, following the release of:
- Ghostface (Scream)
- Conan the Barbarian
- Noob Saibot (voiced by Kaiji Tang)
- Cyrax (voiced by Enuka Okuma)
- Sektor (voiced by Erika Ishii)
NetherRealm’s Future Plans
With Mortal Kombat 1 continuing to expand its roster, speculation is mounting about the possibility of a third DLC pack. While NetherRealm has yet to confirm Kombat Pack 3, parent company Warner Bros. Discovery remains committed to the franchise. CEO David Zaslav reaffirmed the company’s support, stating that Mortal Kombat is one of four core gaming titles they plan to prioritise.
Furthermore, MK co-creator Ed Boon has previously stated that NetherRealm had already decided on its next game three years ago. Fans are eager to see whether the studio will revisit its Injustice series, which last saw a release in 2017 with Injustice 2.
Meanwhile, Sub-Zero and co just collaborated with Fortnite to bring MK characters into the BR’s Battle Pass.
For now, the arrival of the T-1000 and Madam Bo ensures that MK1 continues to deliver compelling content for its dedicated player base.
With Khaos Reigns nearing its conclusion, all eyes are on NetherRealm to see what comes next.
