The T-1000 brings the liquid-metal assassin from Terminator 2: Judgment Day into Mortal Kombat 1, complete with Robert Patrick’s likeness and the machine’s mimetic polyalloy abilities. Its fighting style revolves around shape-shifting, bladed limbs, firearms and fluid transformations that allow the Terminator to rapidly change its body into weapons or move across the arena as liquid metal.
The T-1000 has two character-specific Fatalities, the Wolfie’s Just Fine Animality, The Klassic and seven named character-specific Brutalities. Five unlock through Fighter Mastery, Head Shot and Next Time are Seasonal Store Brutalities, and Superfluid Matter also hides a separate secret Brutality.
How to Perform T-1000’s First Fatality in MK1 (Judgment Day)
Input Distance: Close to Sweep Distance
Execution Difficulty: Easy
- PlayStation: ⬇️, ➡️, ⬇️, 🅧
- Xbox: ⬇️, ➡️, ⬇️, 🅐
- Nintendo Switch: ⬇️, ➡️, ⬇️, 🅑
Judgment Day recreates several elements of the T-1000’s pursuit from Terminator 2. The machine drives a damaged truck into the opponent, reforms through the vehicle and unloads a submachine gun before the resulting crash and explosion tears everything apart.
The T-1000 survives by reforming from the wreckage and calmly walking away.
The Fatality works from directly beside the opponent out towards Sweep Distance. I recommend using Sweep Distance as the starting reference because it gives you enough room to enter the directional sequence cleanly without requiring precise close-range positioning.
How to Perform T-1000’s Second Fatality in MK1 (To Oppose And Harm)
Input Distance: Close to Sweep Distance
Execution Difficulty: Easy
- PlayStation: ⬅️, ➡️, ⬅️, 🔺
- Xbox: ⬅️, ➡️, ⬅️, 🅨
- Nintendo Switch: ⬅️, ➡️, ⬅️, 🅧
To Oppose And Harm showcases the T-1000’s ability to perfectly imitate other people. It copies the defeated fighter before extending a liquid-metal finger through their eye and transforming its arms into blades and hooks.
The Terminator finishes by lifting the opponent and tearing their body apart from the head down.
Like Judgment Day, the second Fatality works throughout the space between Close and Sweep Distance. Leaving a small gap is therefore enough for either finisher.
Important: The T-1000 can also perform the Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Winter Fatalities if they are unlocked on the player’s account. These seasonal Fatalities are not unique to the T-1000 and can be performed by other playable fighters.
How to Perform T-1000’s Animality in MK1 (Wolfie’s Just Fine)
Input Distance: Sweep Distance to Full Screen
Execution Difficulty: Easy
- PlayStation: ⬇️, ➡️, ⬅️, 🅧
- Xbox: ⬇️, ➡️, ⬅️, 🅐
- Nintendo Switch: ⬇️, ➡️, ⬅️, 🅑
Wolfie’s Just Fine transforms the T-1000 into a German Shepherd. The dog attacks the opponent, tears away an arm and eventually rips their head and attached spine from the body.
The Animality has a far larger activation window than either Fatality. Once the T-1000 is approximately Sweep Distance away, the same input remains valid all the way to Full Screen.
The name is also a direct Terminator 2 reference. During the film, the T-800 deliberately calls John Connor’s dog “Wolfie” while speaking to the T-1000 impersonating Janelle. The incorrect name exposes the impersonation because the dog is actually called Max.
For the animal transformation used by every other playable fighter, see our complete Mortal Kombat 1 Animality guide.
All T-1000 Brutalities in Mortal Kombat 1
The T-1000 has The Klassic and five character-specific Brutalities unlocked through Fighter Mastery. Metal Man, Dead Man Switch, Closed Loop, Polyalloy Puddle and Mimetic Mortality unlock at Mastery Ranks 1, 4, 7, 11 and 18 respectively.
Two additional Brutalities, Head Shot and Next Time, are available through the Seasonal Store and sit outside Fighter Mastery progression.
The T-1000 also has two unusual hidden features. Superfluid Matter contains a separate secret Brutality using Elevating Hook, while most character-specific Brutalities allow the victory pose to switch between the Terminator’s human and liquid-metal appearances by holding Flip Stance + Block.
- PlayStation: L2 + R2
- Xbox: LT + RT
- Nintendo Switch: ZL + ZR
The victory-pose variation works after every character-specific Brutality except Metal Man.
The Klassic
Unlock Requirement: Available by default
- PlayStation: ⬇️ + 🔺
- Xbox: ⬇️ + 🅨
- Nintendo Switch: ⬇️ + 🅧
Final Hit: Uppercut
Additional Condition: Hold Back Punch during the Final Hit.
The T-1000 performs the traditional Mortal Kombat Uppercut, transforming its arm into a blade that removes the opponent’s head.
Keep Back Punch held as the Uppercut connects rather than releasing the attack immediately.
Metal Man
Unlock Requirement: Fighter Mastery Rank 1
- PlayStation: L1 or ⬜ + 🅧
- Xbox: LB or 🅧 + 🅐
- Nintendo Switch: L or 🅨 + 🅑
Final Hit: Transpositional Cuffs (Back Throw)
Additional Condition: Hold Down during the Final Hit.
Metal Man modifies the T-1000’s Transpositional Cuffs Back Throw. After moving behind the opponent, the machine tears both arms from their body before dissolving back into liquid metal.
Begin holding Down once the Back Throw starts and maintain it through the finishing portion of the animation.
Brutality Variation: Instead of holding Down, hold Up + Back Punch immediately after initiating the Back Throw to trigger the universal MK11-style Screen Throw Brutality.
- PlayStation: ⬆️ + 🔺
- Xbox: ⬆️ + 🅨
- Nintendo Switch: ⬆️ + 🅧
Because Metal Man and the Screen Throw begin from the same Back Throw, the held direction and attack button determine which finisher activates.
Dead Man Switch
Unlock Requirement: Fighter Mastery Rank 4
- PlayStation: 🔺, 🅾️, L1 or ⬜ + 🅧
- Xbox: 🅨, 🅑, LB or 🅧 + 🅐
- Nintendo Switch: 🅧, 🅐, L or 🅨 + 🅑
Final Hit: Manifold Perforation
Additional Condition: Hold Back during the Final Hit.
Dead Man Switch turns Manifold Perforation into a lethal liquid-metal attack. Instead of completing the standard sequence, the T-1000 walks into the opponent and drives an arm blade straight through their torso.
Manifold Perforation also accepts an alternate ending using Back Punch + Back Kick instead of Throw.
- PlayStation alternate: 🔺, 🅾️, 🔺 + 🅾️
- Xbox alternate: 🅨, 🅑, 🅨 + 🅑
- Nintendo Switch alternate: 🅧, 🅐, 🅧 + 🅐
Both routes lead into the same Brutality. Hold Back as the finishing strike connects.
Closed Loop
Unlock Requirement: Fighter Mastery Rank 7
- PlayStation: 🅾️, 🅧, 🅾️, 🅧, 🅾️
- Xbox: 🅑, 🅐, 🅑, 🅐, 🅑
- Nintendo Switch: 🅐, 🅑, 🅐, 🅑, 🅐
Final Hit: Multiplanar Laceration
Additional Condition: Hold Up during the Final Hit.
Closed Loop modifies Multiplanar Laceration, with the T-1000 repeatedly transforming its limbs into blades and cutting the opponent apart.
The five-button sequence above is the easiest version to remember because it simply alternates Back Kick and Front Kick.
Multiplanar Laceration actually accepts several valid finishing patterns after its opening Back Kick, Front Kick. The later attacks can vary between the two kick buttons and still produce the required Kombo, so you do not need to force one exact five-button route if another version already feels natural.
Once the final attack begins, hold Up through the hit.
Polyalloy Puddle
Unlock Requirement: Fighter Mastery Rank 11
- PlayStation: ➡️ + ⬜, 🅧, L1 or ⬜ + 🅧
- Xbox: ➡️ + 🅧, 🅐, LB or 🅧 + 🅐
- Nintendo Switch: ➡️ + 🅨, 🅑, L or 🅨 + 🅑
Final Hit: Ethmoid Lance
Additional Condition: Hold Back during the Final Hit.
Polyalloy Puddle modifies the Ethmoid Lance Kombo. The T-1000 throws the opponent away, copies their appearance and then takes advantage of their confusion by driving an arm blade through their mouth.
Complete Forward + Front Punch, Front Kick and Throw normally, then hold Back through the finishing portion of Ethmoid Lance.
Do not begin holding Back before the Kombo starts because the directional input can interfere with the opening Forward + Front Punch attack.
Mimetic Mortality
Unlock Requirement: Fighter Mastery Rank 18
- PlayStation: ⬅️, ➡️ + 🅾️, then ⬜ or 🅧
- Xbox: ⬅️, ➡️ + 🅑, then 🅧 or 🅐
- Nintendo Switch: ⬅️, ➡️ + 🅐, then 🅨 or 🅑
Final Hit: Liquiform Suplex
Additional Condition: Hold Front Punch during the Final Hit.
Mimetic Mortality begins with Amorphous Step before transitioning into Liquiform Suplex. The T-1000 envelops the opponent in liquid metal and then violently separates from them, stripping the body down to the skeleton.
Liquiform Suplex can be triggered with either Front Punch or Front Kick, but the Brutality condition specifically requires Front Punch to be held during the Final Hit.
I recommend using the Front Punch version of Liquiform Suplex for the Brutality. The same button already needs to remain held through the Final Hit, so this removes an unnecessary change of input and makes the condition much easier to manage.
Brutality Variation: Superfluid Matter has a separate hidden Brutality using Elevating Hook.
- PlayStation: ⬅️, ➡️ + 🅧, then 🔺
- Xbox: ⬅️, ➡️ + 🅐, then 🅨
- Nintendo Switch: ⬅️, ➡️ + 🅑, then 🅧
Final Hit: Elevating Hook
Additional Condition: Hold Back Punch during the Final Hit.
Instead of performing Liquiform Suplex, enter Superfluid Matter and follow with Back Punch for Elevating Hook. Keep Back Punch held as the rising attack connects.
Both finishers therefore begin with the same liquid-metal transformation concept, but the follow-up determines whether you get Mimetic Mortality or the hidden Uppercut Brutality.
Seasonal Store Brutalities
The T-1000 has two additional Brutalities available through the Seasonal Store. Head Shot and Next Time sit outside its five Fighter Mastery unlocks and remain usable once acquired.
Head Shot
Unlock Requirement: Seasonal Store
Head Shot has two different valid activation routes.
Extended Ballistic Approach
- PlayStation: ⬇️, ➡️ + Hold ⬜
- Xbox: ⬇️, ➡️ + Hold 🅧
- Nintendo Switch: ⬇️, ➡️ + Hold 🅨
Final Hit: Extended Ballistic Approach
Additional Condition: Continue holding Front Punch during the Final Hit.
The T-1000 extends Ballistic Approach by continuing to fire its handgun, with the final shot destroying the opponent’s head.
Holding Front Punch is essential because tapping the button only produces the standard version of Ballistic Approach rather than the extended attack required for Head Shot.
Head Shot can also be activated with Enhanced Ballistic Suppression.
- PlayStation: ⬇️, ⬅️ + ⬜ + R2
- Xbox: ⬇️, ⬅️ + 🅧 + RT
- Nintendo Switch: ⬇️, ⬅️ + 🅨 + ZR
Final Hit: Enhanced Ballistic Suppression
Meter Requirement: At least one bar of Super Meter
The Enhanced Ballistic Suppression route does not require the held Front Punch condition used by Extended Ballistic Approach.
For consistency, I would use Extended Ballistic Approach when meter is unavailable and save Enhanced Ballistic Suppression for situations where the extra bar is already available. Both routes produce the same Brutality.
Next Time
Unlock Requirement: Seasonal Store
- PlayStation: ➡️ + 🔺, 🔺
- Xbox: ➡️ + 🅨, 🅨
- Nintendo Switch: ➡️ + 🅧, 🅧
Final Hit: Abductive Splitter
Additional Condition: Hold Forward during the Final Hit.
Next Time modifies the short Abductive Splitter Kombo, transforming the T-1000’s limbs into blades that slice the opponent in half across the torso.
The Brutality is comparatively straightforward because the Kombo already begins with Forward.
Enter Forward + Back Punch, Back Punch and simply keep holding Forward through the final strike rather than releasing the direction after the opening attack.
T-1000 Fatalities, Animality, and Brutalities Video Guide
CJR Gaming’s Mortal Kombat 1 T-1000 showcase contains The Klassic, all seven named character-specific Brutalities, Judgment Day, To Oppose And Harm and Wolfie’s Just Fine. It provides a complete visual reference for the T-1000’s standard finisher collection alongside the inputs and activation requirements above.
The separate hidden Superfluid Matter Uppercut Brutality is covered in the guide above.
As one of Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns’ three guest fighters, the T-1000 sits naturally alongside Ghostface and Conan the Barbarian. All three joined through Kombat Pack 2, making our Ghostface and Conan finisher guides the natural next stops in the character network.
