Mortal Kombat Legacy Collection Final Lineup Features Mythologies Sub-Zero and Special Forces

Key Highlights:

  • Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection final roster confirmed, including more than 20 classic titles.
  • Rare games like Mythologies: Sub-Zero, Special Forces, and the lost WaveNet version of Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 are included.
  • New features such as Rewind, Fatality Trainer, and on-screen move lists add modern convenience.

Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection has finally confirmed its full lineup, and it’s shaping up to be the most comprehensive preservation of the series’ early years yet. After months of speculation, leaks, and teaser trailers, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Digital Eclipse have officially locked in which titles will be included, along with a set of modern features designed to make the experience more accessible to both long-time fans and newcomers.

Among the biggest surprises are Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero and Mortal Kombat: Special Forces. Both PlayStation-era spin-offs were rarely re-released and have been absent from modern platforms for decades. Their inclusion marks the first time many players will be able to revisit these controversial but historically important titles.

The news was broke at Gamescom 2025, where a trailer was released showcasing the final two additions.

Even more notable is the long-lost WaveNet edition of Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, which hasn’t been available since its limited arcade release in 1997. Originally built to run on Midway’s short-lived WaveNet online matchmaking service, this version is unique for making Noob Saibot a fully selectable character. Digital Eclipse has now preserved and emulated the edition for the first time in history, making it a standout addition to the collection.

In addition to faithfully preserving the originals, the MK Legacy Kollection introduces a range of new features.

Rewind system allows players to undo mistakes instantly, making tough fights more forgiving. On-screen move lists and a Trainer mode give players the chance to sharpen their kombos, while the dedicated Fatality Trainer helps perfect the series’ iconic finishing moves. The package also includes CRT-style filters and a music library for added nostalgia.
