- September’s PS Plus Essential lineup is now live with three new titles.

Sony has confirmed that September’s PS Plus Essential games are now available to download. Subscribers can add three titles to their library this month: Psychonauts 2 on PS4, Stardew Valley on PS4, and Viewfinder on both PS5 and PS4. The offer runs until October 7th, after which the lineup will refresh with new additions.
For most players, Psychonauts 2 will be the standout here. Double Fine’s cult classic sequel blends inventive platforming with sharp writing, and it’s one of the most memorable narrative-driven games of the past decade.
I remember playing it at launch and being struck by how cleverly it handled mental health themes without ever losing its quirky humour. It’s exactly the kind of title that benefits from PS Plus exposure, as plenty of players may have skipped it the first time around.
Stardew Valley needs no introduction. It’s one of the most successful indie games ever made, and even if you’ve played it before, the Essential version offers a chance to restart with friends or simply lose yourself in another farm.
Viewfinder, meanwhile, is one of the more creative puzzle games of recent years. Its reality-bending mechanics feel like something plucked out of an experimental indie showcase, yet it carries enough polish to make it a great fit for PS Plus.
While some subscribers might compare this month’s lineup unfavourably to recent heavy-hitters like DayZ or Lies of P, the real strength of September’s offering lies in variety. You’re getting a narrative platformer, a relaxing farming sim, and a cerebral puzzle experience, which covers three very different player moods.
All three games can be redeemed right now worldwide.
