Silent Hill 2 Remake Xbox Release Accidentally Leaked by Microsoft

James Sunderland walks through a foggy environment with the text "Silent Hill 2 Remake" and "Leaked" for Xbox Series X|S prominently displayed.

Key Highlights:

  • Silent Hill 2 remake is set to release on Xbox Series X|S on November 21, following a Microsoft Store leak.
  • The leak included a deluxe edition but made no mention of the Born from a Wish DLC.
  • An official announcement from Konami or Microsoft is expected soon.

After months of speculation, it looks like Silent Hill 2 Remake finally has an Xbox release date, and Microsoft accidentally revealed it themselves. According to a listing that briefly appeared on the Microsoft Store, the game will arrive on Xbox Series X|S on November 21, 2025. I checked the listing details myself before it was pulled, and the date lined up perfectly with what TrueAchievements reported from the store’s backend data.

This isn’t some shaky rumour from a random forum post; when a release date appears directly on the official Microsoft Store, it’s usually a sign that an announcement is imminent.

The listing didn’t flag Silent Hill 2 as an Xbox Play Anywhere title, meaning the purchase likely won’t transfer between console and PC. It also didn’t mention the much-requested Born from a Wish DLC, which many hoped Bloober Team would integrate into this remake.

It’s an odd way for the reveal to happen, especially after Konami’s silence since the PlayStation exclusivity period ended earlier this month. Xbox fans have been waiting since October 8 for any confirmation that the remake was finally coming to their platform, and this leak seems to have given them that answer early.

The date itself (November 21) lands on a Friday, just ahead of the US Thanksgiving weekend, which would be a strategic release window for Microsoft to capitalise on holiday traffic.

There’s already speculation that the game might be featured during an upcoming Xbox showcase, possibly with a “shadow drop” reveal to align with the listing. If that happens, it could finally close the gap that’s kept Xbox players out of the conversation since launch.

Interestingly, the leaked store page also hinted at a Silent Hill 2 deluxe edition. From what’s been uncovered, it will include a digital artbook, an official soundtrack, and a Pyramid Head pizza box cosmetic, an odd but fitting nod to one of horror gaming’s most iconic villains. A bundle combining Silent Hill 2 and Silent Hill F was also mentioned, though it’s unclear whether that’s an early placeholder or a planned offer for launch day.

I find it notable that there’s still no sign of a Nintendo Switch 2 version. Given the system’s growing reputation for handling modern horror games like Resident Evil Requiem, a port isn’t out of the question later on, but nothing official has surfaced. For now, it seems Xbox players are next in line after PlayStation and PC, marking the end of a year-long exclusivity run.

Leaks from digital storefronts are often the most reliable kind, especially when they come directly from first-party listings like this. If history’s any guide, Konami and Microsoft will make it official very soon, perhaps even within the next two weeks. For fans of Silent Hill 2, that long-awaited trip back into the fog is finally within reach.
