Endnight Games has released Patch 04 for its survival horror title, Sons of the Forest, which includes several new features and various improvements. Despite the hype dying down, Sons of the Forest was one of the most wishlisted games on Steam, surpassing even major titles like Starfield, which is a remarkable accomplishment for an indie game.

Despite being released in early access, the survival horror was positively received upon its launch a few months ago, and Endnight Games’ commitment to updating and improving the title has kept it in good standing. Just a short while after the release of its third major patch, which added a rideable electric unicycle and numerous other assets, the game has received another significant update in the form of Patch 04.

The latest update, Patch 04, for Sons of the Forest has introduced several new features and a significant number of improvements. The Action Cam item and the first found footage tape are the standout additions, while players will now be able to name their save files and discover a new point of interest.

The patch also includes a long list of bug fixes, such as resolving issues related to multiplayer gameplay and fixing the “bad state” bug that occurred when players spam the weapon’s hotkey while simultaneously opening a door with a keycard.

Additionally, Kelvin, the AI character in the game, has received a much-needed tweak in Patch 04. The update allows Kelvin to carry two logs simultaneously, as well as complete building shelves. Kelvin has been a welcome addition to the game as a helpful companion, especially during solo playthroughs, despite some initial issues.

Currently, survival games that offer co-op and multiplayer modes continue to be popular, and there are numerous options available for players from both big and small studios. Sons of the Forest is a great example of a title that offers a very challenging environment for players to explore, and it’s clear that the developers are dedicated to keeping their sequel an enjoyable experience for the gaming community.
