Apple recently unveiled its powerful new iPhone 15 Pro, touting the mobile device’s impressive gaming capabilities. Notably, Capcom’s acclaimed horror hits Resident Evil 4 Remake and Resident Evil Village are both slated to receive native iPhone 15 Pro ports later this year.

The iPhone 15 Pro and souped up 15 Pro Max were the highlight reveals of Apple’s September showcase event. Pre-orders for the £999 and £1199 handsets open 15th of September ahead of a September 22nd launch.

Apple emphasised the Pro models’ upgrades make them capable mainstream gaming devices. To demonstrate, Resident Evil 4 Remake and Village were confirmed as future mobile releases.

The survival horror remakes will join other major ports like Death Stranding and Assassin’s Creed Mirage in bringing console experiences to iPhone 15 Pro.

Resident Evil 4 Remake retains the 2005 classic’s revolutionary over-the-shoulder shooting and action. But a darker tone, gorier visuals and expanded story better align it with modern horror sensibilities.

Meanwhile, the 2021 first-person horror hit Resident Evil Village ranks among the franchise’s scariest entries to date. Its creepy rural setting pits players against vampires, werewolves and more.

Both Capcom titles earned critical acclaim for artfully advancing the legendary Resident Evil formula. Having two such pedigreed horror games on the go via iPhone 15 Pro promises a big win for gaming enthusiasts.

iPhone 15 Pro’s Power Could Provide Near-Console Experiences

The technical specifics powering these ambitious ports remain unconfirmed. However, the iPhone 15 Pro’s new A16 Bionic chip and enhanced GPU may provide greater compatibility with PS5/Xbox Series X-level games.

Either way, the iPhone 15 Pro models clearly position Apple as a burgeoning force in mobile gaming. Capcom lending its revered horror IP certainly bolsters that perception.

While pricing keeps iPhones exclusive, well-heeled gamers can soon experience AAA horrors like Resident Evil untethered from bulky consoles or PCs. Whether curled up in bed or on the morning commute, premium iPhone 15 Pro models inch gaming’s graphical cutting edge into pockets.

Of course, compromised controls and small screens sacrifice immersion. But the convenience of Apple’s powerhouse handsets could make converted console fans of skeptical players.
