Omni-Man Brings Bloody Invincible Mayhem to Mortal Kombat 1
The recent trailer for Mortal Kombat 1 highlights the impending arrival of Omni-Man to the fighter roster on November 9th. Omni-Man, from the graphic superhero series Invincible, looks set to unleash his signature gory style upon the Mortal Kombat universe.
The trailer showcases Omni-Man’s fatality riffing on Invincible’s infamous subway massacre scene, ruthlessly killing passengers in brutal fashion. His addition continues the Beat ‘Em Up’s tradition of incorporating shocking ultra-violence.
Voice actor J.K. Simmons will reprise his Invincible role as the murderous superhero, lending sinister authenticity. Omni-Man also crucially brings aerial movesets and combat to the roster, diversifying playstyles.
Besides previewing Omni-Man’s moveset and fatality, the trailer also revealed fan-favourite fighter Tremor’s shocking new fatality. Tremor forms a massive boulder and uses it to fatally bowl Kung Lao, leaving only severed body parts behind.
Kombat Pack Promises 6 New Kombatants
Omni-Man headlines Mortal Kombat 1’s Kombat Pack as the first of 6 upcoming DLC fighters. He will be followed by Quan Chi this winter and Peacemaker in early 2024.
Later DLC drops will introduce Ermac, The Boys’ Homelander, and franchise veteran Takeda Takahashi through mid-2024. Each fighter includes a themed skin pack and brings their unique flair.
The $39.99 Kombat Pack also includes 4 Kameo Fighters – alternate playable versions of existing kombatants. Khameleon, Janet Cage, Ferra/Torr, and Mavado will join the selectable roster as Kameos.
This robust DLC slate looks set to significantly expand the fighting title’s diverse lineup and introduce highly requested returning fighters. Omni-Man kicks things off in bloody fashion this November.
Tremor Unveiled in New Crystalline Form
Beyond new arrivals, the trailer offers a first look at Tremor in his Crystalline variation. This form incorporates shiny new crystalline rock projectiles and body armour into his moveset.
Co-creator Ed Boon previously teased Tremor’s return alongside classic iterations like Aftershock and Metallic. Seeing the fan-favourite ninja in a new elemental form adds flair.
Showcasing Tremor’s Crystalline variation provides a taste of how existing fighters may expand through Mortal Kombat 1 DLC. New special moves, skins, and fatalities keep gameplay feeling fresh.
The classic fighting series recently got the much-needed patch update for the Nintendo Switch version that had been plagued with bugs. Omni-Man steals the show as the next character, but the tease of Tremor’s upcoming Crystalline style also intrigues for what other new variants may come.

Mortal Kombat 1 is available now on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS5 and Xbox Series S/X.
