Arkane Lyon has officially announced a new Marvel’s Blade game, revealed during The Game Awards. Best known for Deathloop and the Dishonored series, the studio confirmed it is working on a single-player, third-person title built around Marvel’s vampire hunter.
The reveal came via a short teaser trailer, which established the tone and setting rather than gameplay details.
A Blade Story Set in Paris
According to Arkane Lyon, the game will take place in Paris during a supernatural emergency that has placed part of the city under quarantine. Vampires have taken over the streets, forcing residents indoors as Blade hunts through the city at night.
The studio has confirmed the story will be original and not directly tied to existing films or comics. Players can expect a self-contained narrative focused on Blade dealing with a growing vampire threat rather than a broader Marvel crossover.
Based on Arkane Lyon’s past work, the emphasis here feels firmly on atmosphere and story-driven progression rather than open-world sprawl or live-service design.
Arkane Lyon’s Creative Direction
The Blade announcement marked a shift away from expectations that Arkane might reveal Dishonored 3.
Those expectations were fuelled in part by leaked internal Microsoft documents that surfaced during the FTC vs. Microsoft case, which referenced a possible future entry in the series.
Instead, Arkane Lyon is moving into licensed territory with Blade, following its recent work on Redfall. While Redfall struggled critically, the Blade project is being positioned as a more focused, single-player experience, closer in structure to the studio’s earlier narrative-driven titles.
No release window, platforms, or gameplay footage have been confirmed. Arkane Lyon has also not clarified how combat will work or how closely the game will align with Blade’s portrayal in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
For now, the announcement establishes Marvel’s Blade as Arkane Lyon’s next major project, with further details expected at a later date.
