The monthly refresh of rewards and bonuses for GTA+ subscribers has introduced some exciting new content to Grand Theft Auto Online. Most notably, members now have access to an advanced 100-vehicle parking garage in the heart of Los Santos. There are also new Chop Shop missions to play starring the classic character Yusuf Amir from 2008’s GTA 4.

GTA+ Garage and Vehicle Additions

As part of the regular updates for Grand Theft Auto+ members, a massive new public garage has been added named the Vinewood Club Garage. Located in the Pillbox Hill neighbourhood, this huge parking complex provides space for up to 100 vehicles across 5 underground floors. It comes equipped with the game’s most high-tech features for organising and managing a giant car collection.

On top of the convenient central location and huge capacity, GTA+ subscribers also get the Declasse Impaler LX muscle car for free this month. It joins the list of exclusive commemorative vehicles that members receive each update. And a range of new chameleon paint jobs and wheel colours have been added to customise rides with colour-shifting effects.

The Chop Shop Missions and Returning Character

Beyond the garage and cosmetics, a new series of robbery missions dubbed The Chop Shop have been introduced. These task players with tracking down and stealing rare luxury vehicles all over Los Santos to deliver for profit. The missions were added alongside the garage location and muscle car as part Decembers major update. You can check out the official website if you want to get the membership program for yourself.

The most interesting part is the return of beloved Grand Theft Auto 4 character Yusuf Amir, who oversees The Chop Shop missions. After making his name as a shady real estate mogul in Liberty City, he has now moved to Los Santos and needs help acquiring expensive cars through less-than-legal means. Veterans will remember him from The Ballad of Gay Tony expansion.

What Does This Mean for GTA Online’s Future?

With GTA 6 now officially in development and set for release in 2025, there is speculation around how much longer the online component will continue to receive these types of major content updates. The community for the current version is still very active even 9 years later, but typically new entries in big franchises close down predecessors to avoid splitting the player base.

Nothing is confirmed yet regarding plans to sunset the original GTA Online down the road. However by bringing back old characters like Yusuf, Rockstar seems committed to keeping longtime fans engaged for the foreseeable future. But the long-term future likely depends on the reception for Grand Theft Auto 6 and the inevitable online component that will launch with it.

For now though, those subscribed to GTA+ can enjoy the perks of VIP access to Los Santos while new content keeps rolling out. And even non-paying players benefit from activities like the Chop Shop missions being added to keep the world feeling fresh this many years later. As long as fans remain engaged, GTA Online appears here to stay – at least for 2023 and likely beyond.
