Quick Links
The Insect Hive merchant request in Resident Evil 4 Remake shows up right after the minecart section and asks Leon to destroy four glowing Hive Entrances inside the underground insect nest. Each weak point sits along the natural path through the caverns, so it can be cleared quickly before moving deeper into the chapter.
Where is the Insect Hive request?
After completing the minecart ride with Luis, Leon arrives at a small shack on the edge of the underground Hive. The Blue Request Note is pinned inside the building and marks the four yellow Hive Entrances across the caverns.
Step outside and look around the fleshy Hive walls overhead. The yellow nodes stand out clearly once you get close. Destroying them cuts down the number of Novistadors that spawn, which helps in both the request and the main route.
Hive Entrance #1 – Near the Starting Shack
From the shack, the first Hive Entrance is visible up and left, nestled into the Hive material. Stand near the shack’s edge facing out and blast away until the yellow weak point bursts.
Hive Entrance #2 – Above Rocky Platform
Next, in the northern tunnel with rocky stairs and platforms, stop and gaze upward to spot the second Hive Entrance high overhead. Hit its yellow nucleus repeatedly to demolish it.
Hive Entrance #3 – Adjacent to Hive Entrance #2
Standing near the second Hive Entrance provides a decent angle at the third target off to the right. Step slightly aside for a clean shot at the next yellow Hive Entrance nucleus and take it down.
Hive Entrance #4 – West Tunnel Exit
Continue through the western minecart tunnel until the area opens up again. As soon as you exit, look straight up. The final Hive Entrance sits above the tunnel mouth.
Shoot the yellow core and the Hive destabilises, completing the objective.
Rewards for Completing the Resident Evil 4 Remake Insect Hive
Upon informing the Merchant of his heroic deeds, Leon is presented with 4 Spinels – perfect for purchasing new gear and upgrades to tackle future foes lurking within Salazar’s stronghold.
Once all four Hive Entrances are destroyed, the Novistador pressure in this section drops sharply, letting you move through the remaining tunnels and reach the elevator in relative safety.
From there, you can focus fully on the knife fight with Jack Krauser without worrying about any unfinished RE4 Remake Merchant Requests from the Hive.
