While exploring an expansive underground Hive area in the RE4 Remake, beneath Ramon Salazar’s stronghold, Leon discovers a troubling Blue Request plea for help. Scattered notes warn that the Hive’s four deadly “Entrances” continually spawn swarms of vicious insectoid Novistador enemies, threatening the lives of all nearby.
Never one to leave the innocent endangered, Leon takes it upon himself to track down and destroy each of these four Hive Entrances. Doing so stems the tide of endless insectoid foes and earns Leon a useful reward.
Where is the Insect Hive request?
After the minecart ride with Luis, Leon reaches a small shack containing the telling Blue Request Note. This begins the search for brightly glowing yellow Hive Entrances dotted around the Hive’s twisting passages and platforms.
With a trusty handgun equipped, it’s time to start scanning the fleshy, pulsating Hive structure overhead for targets. Each destroyed Hive Entrance means fewer Novistador spawns.
Hive Entrance #1 – Near the Starting Shack
From the shack, the first Hive Entrance is visible up and left, nestled into the Hive material. Stand near the shack’s edge facing out and blast away until the yellow weak point bursts.
Hive Entrance #2 – Above Rocky Platform
Next, in the northern tunnel with rocky stairs and platforms, stop and gaze upward to spot the second Hive Entrance high overhead. Hit its yellow nucleus repeatedly to demolish it.
Hive Entrance #3 – Adjacent to Hive Entrance #2
Standing near the second Hive Entrance provides a decent angle at the third target off to the right. Step slightly aside for a clean shot at the next yellow Hive Entrance nucleus and take it down.
Hive Entrance #4 – West Tunnel Exit
Last up, passing through the western minecart tunnel eventually leads back outside where the final Hive Entrance lurks high above the exit. Look up and nail the last yellow dot to complete Leon’s objective.
Rewards for Completing the Resident Evil 4 Remake Insect Hive
Upon informing the Merchant of his heroic deeds, Leon is presented with 4 Spinels – perfect for purchasing new gear and upgrades to tackle future foes lurking within Salazar’s stronghold.
This is one of the easiest Merchant Requests you’ll come across, it’s the 13 of 19 in total and can be found in Chapter 11 of the RE4 Remake. What makes it so simple, is the fact that all four of the objectives are all quite close to each other in distance. Up next is the Jewel Thief Merchant Request.
