The forthcoming video game WWE 2K24 is set to launch in March, publisher 2K has revealed. This coincides with the 40th anniversary of the pop culture phenomenon that is WrestleMania.

New Match Types

WWE 2K24 introduces four new match types for players to experience:

  • Special Guest Referee
  • Ambulance Match
  • Casket Match
  • Gauntlet Match

In addition, existing match types like Hell in a Cell, Extreme Rules and more also return with upgrades and improvements. The Royal Rumble now supports up to 8 online players, while new interactive environmental elements have been added to Backstage Brawls.

Gameplay and Graphics Enhancements

Visual Concepts, the developer behind WWE 2K24, boasts upgrades to the gameplay and graphics. Superstar entrances and signature moves are more true-to-life and ultra-realistic thanks to enhanced animations and visuals.

There are also improvements to existing mechanics, including new Super Finishers, enhanced Trading Blows exchanges, and the ability to throw weapons. Seven actual WWE referees have been added to matches as well.

The 2K Showcase mode focuses on letting players experience some of the most iconic moments in WrestleMania history. Through a mix of gameplay and live-action footage blended via proprietary “Slingshot Tech,” fans can relive matches like Bret The Hitman Hart Vs Stone Cold Steve Austin and Shawn Michaels vs The Undertaker and other memorable clashes.

Expanded Creation Suite

WWE 2K24 builds upon the robust creation suite options, enabling players to craft their own custom superstars, arenas, championships and more. New to 2K24 is the ability to create referees and custom signs. More creation parts, pieces and animations have also been added.

MyGM, MyFaction and MyRISE Return

Popular modes like MyGM, MyFaction and MyRISE all return in expanded forms. MyGM has more match types, drams, championships and other enhancements. MyFaction now includes a card marketplace and revamped multiplayer components. MyRISE features two new storylines and voiceover work from actual WWE stars.

Release Date and Editions

WWE 2K24 launches on March 8th, 2024 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam. The developers shared the details of what editions and pricing of each on their official website.

The base version on PS5/Xbox Series X/S and PC costs £59.99/$69.99, while PS4/Xbox One is $59.99. A cross-gen bundle is £64.99/$69.99.

The Deluxe Edition (£89.99/$99.99) includes the base game, season pass and bonus costumes for Ripley/Belair. It launches March 5th.

The special WrestleMania edition (£104.99/$119.99) has all Deluxe items plus additional costumes and instant unlock for all showcase wrestlers. It also releases March 5th.
