MrSavage’s Competitive Journey
MrSavage began his competitive Fortnite career in 2018 and quickly established himself as one of the game’s most intelligent and mechanically skilled players.
His most notable achievements include competing in the 2019 Fortnite World Cup, where he secured 14th place in duos and 29th in solos. Over the years, he represented prestigious esports organisations such as:
- NRG Esports
- 100 Thieves
- Become Legends
- 00 Nation
- Red Bull Esports (as an official athlete)
Throughout his competitive career, MrSavage amassed over $500,000 in tournament winnings, cementing his legacy as one of Fortnite’s elite players.
The majority of those earnings came in the $250,000 Fortnite Open at DreamHack Anaheim where he had the game of his life in the eight and final game where he amassed 9 eliminations and got the all-important Victory Royale to crown him champion.
Reason Behind the Retirement
In his YouTube video, MrSavage expressed that the competitive Fortnite scene no longer felt the same.
He stated:
“I just realised… I just haven’t been having as much fun playing these tournaments.”
While he acknowledged the incredible moments Fortnite provided him, he felt it was time to shift his focus toward other ventures.
His decision follows similar moves by former Fortnite stars such as Benjyfishy and Mitr0, leaving Mongraal as the last active pro from Fortnite’s legendary “Big 4.”
Even Mongraaal left at one point, but was persuaded back by none other than MrSavage himself. They headed to NA to compete in the North American FNCS where they got to the Grand Finals.
Epic however, decided to make a change to the map that was one of the biggest changes to competitive Fortnite ever, in nerfing the slurp cacti. This was a major strategy in the duo’s gameplan and ultimately cost them grands and a spot at LAN.
Less than a month ago, the pair sent shockwaves through the community by announcing that the OG duo had split permanently after just missing out on EU FNCS qualification.
What’s Next for MrSavage?
Although he is stepping away from competitive play, MrSavage reassured fans that he is not leaving the Fortnite scene entirely.
He will now prioritise content creation and streaming, continuing to engage with his audience through casual gameplay, collaborations, and educational Fortnite content.
