007 First Light Gets PS5 Pro Enhancements with 60 FPS Quality Mode

Key Highlights:

  • 007 First Light launches March 27, 2026, with PS5 Pro enhancements.
  • 60 FPS Quality Mode, advanced ray tracing, and PSSR confirmed.
  • Preorders on PS Store include the Deluxe Edition at no extra cost.

Sony has confirmed that IO Interactive’s upcoming James Bond title, 007 First Light, will feature PS5 Pro enhancements when it arrives in March 2026.

Despite 007 First Light not being marked as PlayStation 5 Pro Enhanced on the PS Store, the PlayStation site has revealed some of the upgrade features.

The upgrades include a 60 FPS Quality Mode, ray-traced reflections and shadows, and sharper visuals through PlayStation’s AI-powered PSSR.

As someone who has covered Pro Enhanced titles since the PS4 Pro era, what stands out to me here is the inclusion of 60 FPS in Quality Mode. Normally, you’d expect that frame rate only in Performance Mode, while Quality would prioritise higher resolution and effects. By pushing 60 FPS with ray tracing active, IO is clearly aiming to showcase the PS5 Pro as more than just a marginal step up.

I’ve seen studios hold back in the past, so this feels like a strong statement that First Light will use the extra horsepower properly. There’s also the promise of PSSR, Sony’s own AI-upscaling tech, which is interesting because this is one of the first big-name titles to promote it so directly.

In practice, PSSR could mean sharper image clarity than traditional upscaling, especially on large 4K displays, though we’ll need hands-on time to see if it matches the marketing.

007 First Light is shaping up to be one of 2026’s biggest releases, and it’s a chance for both IO Interactive and Sony to show off their vision for next-gen stealth action.

The fact that every PS Store preorder includes the Deluxe Edition also suggests Sony is betting heavily on this game’s appeal.
