Kitana is an Outworld princess who fights with bladed steel fans, wind-based attacks, and agile aerial techniques. Her Mortal Kombat 1 finishers build around those attributes, using spinning fans, cutting projectiles, and high-speed movement to dismantle opponents.
This guide covers all of Kitana’s Mortal Kombat 1 finishers, including Royal Blender, Last Kiss, the Royal Nectar Animality, and every Brutality. Each section provides platform-specific inputs, Input Distance requirements, unlock methods, Final Hits, and Additional Conditions.
How to Perform Kitana’s First Fatality in MK1 (Royal Blender)
Input Distance: Jump Distance to Full Screen
Execution Difficulty: Easy
- PlayStation: ⬇️➡️⬇️🅾️
- Xbox: ⬇️➡️⬇️🅑
- Nintendo Switch: ⬇️➡️⬇️🅐
Kitana sends her steel fans spinning around the opponent before creating a cutting vortex. The victim is lifted into the air and shredded as the rotating blades tear through their body.
Royal Blender has an unusually generous working range. Current finisher testing places the activation window from Jump Distance through to Full Screen.
How to Perform Kitana’s Second Fatality in MK1 (Last Kiss)
Input Distance: Close to Sweep Distance
Execution Difficulty: Easy
- PlayStation: ⬇️⬇️⬅️🅾️
- Xbox: ⬇️⬇️⬅️🅑
- Nintendo Switch: ⬇️⬇️⬅️🅐
Kitana conceals a kiss behind one of her fans before driving both opened fans into the opponent’s mouth and skull. She walks away as the victim’s head separates into three sections.
Last Kiss continues Kitana’s long-running tradition of kiss-based Fatalities, which stretches back to her debut in Mortal Kombat II.
Important: Kitana can also perform the Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Winter Fatalities if they are unlocked on the player’s account. These seasonal Fatalities are not unique to Kitana and can be performed by other playable fighters.
How to Perform Kitana’s Animality in MK1 (Royal Nectar)
Input Distance: Sweep Distance to Full Screen
Execution Difficulty: Easy
- PlayStation: ⬇️⬇️➡️⬇️
- Xbox: ⬇️⬇️➡️⬇️
- Nintendo Switch: ⬇️⬇️➡️⬇️
Kitana transforms into a giant hummingbird and repeatedly attacks her opponent with its beak. The final strikes open the victim’s body into a flower-like shape before the hummingbird feeds on the blood as if it were nectar.
Royal Nectar gives the Animality’s name a literal meaning by combining the hummingbird transformation with the way the creature feeds after the opponent’s body opens like a flower.
For the animal transformation used by every other playable fighter, see our complete Mortal Kombat 1 Animality guide.
All Kitana Brutalities in Mortal Kombat 1
Kitana has The Klassic and five character-specific Brutalities unlocked through Fighter Mastery. Some Off The Top, Hit The Fan, Where’d You Go?, Easy Peasy, and Kiss It become available at Mastery Ranks 3, 5, 7, 10, and 15.
Kitana can also unlock Cyclone Vortex and Butt Head separately through the recurring Seasonal Store. These two finishers are not Fighter Mastery rewards.
The Klassic
Unlock Requirement: Available by default
- PlayStation: ⬇️ + 🔺
- Xbox: ⬇️ + 🅨
- Nintendo Switch: ⬇️ + 🅧
Final Hit: Uppercut
Additional Condition: Hold Back Punch during the Final Hit.
Kitana performs an Uppercut before using her fan to remove the opponent’s head. The Klassic is available without increasing Kitana’s Fighter Mastery Rank.
Some Off The Top
Unlock Requirement: Fighter Mastery Rank 3
- PlayStation: L1 or ⬜ + 🅧
- Xbox: LB or 🅧 + 🅐
- Nintendo Switch: L or 🅨 + 🅑
Final Hit: Talk To The Fan
Additional Condition: Press Down three times during the Final Hit.
Brutality Variation: Hold Up + Back Punch immediately after initiating the Back Throw to trigger the alternate screen-throw animation.
Kitana stabs the opponent during Talk To The Fan before moving behind them and removing their head with her fan. Begin pressing Down as soon as the Back Throw starts so all three inputs register during the hit.
The alternate screen throw is a universal hidden Brutality variation rather than a separate Kitana-specific finisher.
Hit The Fan
Unlock Requirement: Fighter Mastery Rank 5
- PlayStation: ⬅️➡️⬜
- Xbox: ⬅️➡️🅧
- Nintendo Switch: ⬅️➡️🅨
Final Hit: Fan Toss
Input Distance: At least Jump Distance
Additional Condition: Hold Back during the Final Hit.
Kitana throws a fan directly into the opponent’s head. The spinning blade remains lodged in the victim before splitting the head vertically.
Hit The Fan will not activate at close range. Kitana must be at least Jump Distance away when Fan Toss delivers the Final Hit.
Where’d You Go?
Unlock Requirement: Fighter Mastery Rank 7
- PlayStation: ⬇️⬅️🔺
- Xbox: ⬇️⬅️🅨
- Nintendo Switch: ⬇️⬅️🅧
Final Hit: Square Wave
Additional Condition: Hold Down during the Final Hit. The opponent must be airborne when Square Wave connects.
Kitana launches herself through the airborne opponent with Square Wave, destroying their body on impact.
The airborne-opponent requirement is essential. Square Wave can still score the Final Hit against a grounded fighter, but the Brutality will not activate.
Easy Peasy
Unlock Requirement: Fighter Mastery Rank 10
- PlayStation: ⬜, ⬜, 🔺
- Xbox: 🅧, 🅧, 🅨
- Nintendo Switch: 🅨, 🅨, 🅧
Final Hit: Rising Up
Additional Condition: Hold Front Punch during the Final Hit.
Kitana completes the Rising Up Kombo by cutting across the opponent, stabbing them, and finishing with a vertical fan strike that splits the body apart.
The complete Kombo uses universal notation 1, 1, 2.
Kiss It
Unlock Requirement: Fighter Mastery Rank 15
- PlayStation: ➡️ + ⬜, 🔺
- Xbox: ➡️ + 🅧, 🅨
- Nintendo Switch: ➡️ + 🅨, 🅧
Final Hit: Twisted Edenian
Additional Condition: Hold Down during the Final Hit.
Kitana completes Twisted Edenian by driving a fan into the opponent before swinging the second blade through their head. Holding Down during the closing strike converts the Kombo into Kiss It.
The complete Kombo uses universal notation Forward + 1, 2.
Seasonal Store Brutalities
Kitana has two additional Brutalities available through the recurring Seasonal Store. Cyclone Vortex and Butt Head are separate from Fighter Mastery and remain available to Kitana once acquired.
Cyclone Vortex
Unlock Requirement: Seasonal Store
- PlayStation: ⬅️⬇️➡️🅾️
- Xbox: ⬅️⬇️➡️🅑
- Nintendo Switch: ⬅️⬇️➡️🅐
Final Hit: Wind Bomb
Additional Condition: Hold Front Punch during the Final Hit.
Kitana traps the opponent inside Wind Bomb before the vortex slices away their head and limbs.
The standard, Close, Far, and Very Far versions of Wind Bomb can all trigger Cyclone Vortex, giving the Brutality considerably more positional flexibility than most projectile-based finishers.
Butt Head
Unlock Requirement: Seasonal Store
- PlayStation: ⬅️ + 🅧, 🅾️
- Xbox: ⬅️ + 🅐, 🅑
- Nintendo Switch: ⬅️ + 🅑, 🅐
Final Hit: Booty Bump
Additional Condition: Hold Forward during the Final Hit.
Kitana completes Booty Bump by crushing the opponent’s head and neck before landing behind them and finishing the animation with a kick.
Butt Head uses universal notation Back + 3, 4, making the held Forward input the only additional execution requirement once the Kombo begins.
