As Empress of Outworld, Sindel has two Fatalities, one Animality, five Fighter Mastery Brutalities, two Seasonal Store Brutalities, and The Klassic in Mortal Kombat 1. Her finishers revolve around her living hair, sonic scream, aerial movement, and royal fighting style.

This guide covers all of Sindel’s Mortal Kombat 1 finishers, including Hair Comes Trouble, Livin’ The Scream, the Terror-antula Animality, and every Brutality. Each section provides platform-specific inputs, Input Distance requirements, unlock methods, Final Hits, and Additional Conditions.

How to Perform Sindel’s First Fatality in MK1 (Hair Comes Trouble)

Input Distance: Jump Distance to Full Screen
Execution Difficulty: Easy

  • PlayStation: ⬇️⬅️⬇️⬜
  • Xbox: ⬇️⬅️⬇️🅧
  • Nintendo Switch: ⬇️⬅️⬇️🅨

Sindel sends her living hair towards the opponent and uses it to tear away both arms. She lifts the victim with strands inserted into the open wounds before reaching into their throat and ripping out the skull and spine.

Hair Comes Trouble has a much larger activation window than the generic Mid-Range description found in many move lists. The current working distance is from Jump Distance through to Full Screen.

How to Perform Sindel’s Second Fatality in MK1 (Livin’ The Scream)

Input Distance: Jump Distance to Full Screen
Execution Difficulty: Easy

  • PlayStation: ⬅️➡️⬅️🔺
  • Xbox: ⬅️➡️⬅️🅨
  • Nintendo Switch: ⬅️➡️⬅️🅧

Sindel levitates around her opponent while attacking them with increasingly powerful sonic screams. The soundwaves rupture the victim before a final blast tears away their flesh and leaves the skeleton behind.

Livin’ The Scream shares the same broad Jump Distance to Full Screen activation window as Hair Comes Trouble. This makes Sindel unusual because neither Fatality requires the player to move into Close or Sweep Distance before entering the finishing input.

How to Perform Sindel’s Animality in MK1 (Terror-antula)

Input Distance: Sweep Distance to Full Screen
Execution Difficulty: Easy

  • PlayStation: ⬅️⬇️⬇️🅾️
  • Xbox: ⬅️⬇️⬇️🅑
  • Nintendo Switch: ⬅️⬇️⬇️🅐

Sindel transforms into a giant spider and pounces onto her opponent. The creature grabs the victim with its mandibles, suspends them with webbing, and bites into their head before spiderlings erupt from inside the body.

Terror-antula works from Sweep Distance through to Full Screen, giving Sindel another finisher with an unusually forgiving positioning requirement.

The spider transformation also replaces the purple wasp used for Sindel’s original Animality in Mortal Kombat 3, making Terror-antula an entirely different animal interpretation rather than a modern recreation.

For the animal transformation used by every other playable fighter, see our complete Mortal Kombat 1 Animality guide.

All Sindel Brutalities in Mortal Kombat 1

Sindel has The Klassic and five character-specific Brutalities unlocked through Fighter Mastery. Scream Queen, Split Ends, That Was Fun!, Off With Your Head, and Lose Something? unlock at Mastery Ranks 3, 5, 7, 10, and 15.

Two additional Brutalities were added outside Sindel’s Fighter Mastery progression. You Hear Something? and Down Town arrived with the later Khaos Reigns-era Brutality additions and were made available through the Seasonal Store.

The Klassic

Unlock Requirement: Available by default

  • PlayStation: ⬇️ + 🔺
  • Xbox: ⬇️ + 🅨
  • Nintendo Switch: ⬇️ + 🅧

Final Hit: Uppercut
Additional Condition: Hold Back Punch during the Final Hit.

Sindel completes her Uppercut and removes the opponent’s head with the spine still attached.

Unlike fighters with a conventional punching Uppercut, Sindel uses her hair during the rising attack, giving her version of The Klassic a character-specific animation.

Scream Queen

Unlock Requirement: Fighter Mastery Rank 3

  • PlayStation: L1 or ⬜ + 🅧
  • Xbox: LB or 🅧 + 🅐
  • Nintendo Switch: L or 🅨 + 🅑

Final Hit: Mane Squeeze (Back Throw)
Additional Condition: Press Down three times during the Final Hit.

Sindel grabs the opponent during Mane Squeeze and unleashes a scream directly into their face. The sonic force strips away the victim’s facial tissue before the body collapses.

I found the most reliable method is to start tapping Down immediately after the Back Throw begins rather than waiting for Sindel’s scream animation, as the three directional inputs need to register during the hit.

Brutality Variation: Hold Up + Back Punch immediately after initiating a Back Throw to trigger the secret MK11-style screen throw instead. This is a universal hidden Brutality available to the roster rather than a separate Sindel-specific unlock.

Split Ends

Unlock Requirement: Fighter Mastery Rank 5

  • PlayStation: ➡️ + ⬜, 🅧
  • Xbox: ➡️ + 🅧, 🅐
  • Nintendo Switch: ➡️ + 🅨, 🅑

Final Hit: Follicular Homicide
Additional Condition: Hold Back during the Final Hit.

Sindel completes Follicular Homicide by driving her hair directly through the opponent’s torso and leaving a large opening through their body.

Because the held Back condition is separate from the Forward input that begins Follicular Homicide, switch direction once the Kombo has started and keep Back held through the finishing strike.

That Was Fun!

Unlock Requirement: Fighter Mastery Rank 7

  • PlayStation: ⬇️➡️🅾️
  • Xbox: ⬇️➡️🅑
  • Nintendo Switch: ⬇️➡️🅐

Final Hit: Kartwheel
Additional Condition: Hold Up during the Final Hit.

Sindel performs Kartwheel and sends the opponent into the air. She casually snaps her fingers while the victim is falling, causing their body to explode before it reaches the ground.

That Was Fun! is activated directly from Sindel’s Kartwheel Special Move, making it one of her shorter Brutality inputs once the opponent has been reduced to finishing health.

Off With Your Head

Unlock Requirement: Fighter Mastery Rank 10

  • PlayStation: 🔺, 🅾️, 🅾️
  • Xbox: 🅨, 🅑, 🅑
  • Nintendo Switch: 🅧, 🅐, 🅐

Final Hit: Royal Dismissal
Additional Condition: Hold Forward during the Final Hit.

Sindel completes the three-hit Royal Dismissal sequence before using the final spinning kick to destroy the opponent’s head.

The complete Kombo uses universal notation 2, 4, 4. Hold Forward as the final Back Kick connects to convert Royal Dismissal into the Brutality.

Lose Something?

Unlock Requirement: Fighter Mastery Rank 15

  • PlayStation: ⬇️⬅️⬜
  • Xbox: ⬇️⬅️🅧
  • Nintendo Switch: ⬇️⬅️🅨

Final Hit: Low Hairball
Input Distance: At least Jump Distance
Additional Condition: Hold Down during the Final Hit.

Sindel sends a Low Hairball across the ground and destroys one of the opponent’s legs. The victim briefly struggles to remain upright before collapsing from the injury.

Lose Something? is Sindel’s only Fighter Mastery Brutality with a documented minimum Input Distance. Low Hairball can defeat an opponent from closer positions, but the Brutality requires Sindel to be at least Jump Distance away.

Seasonal Store Brutalities

Sindel received two additional Brutalities through the Khaos Reigns-era Seasonal Store. You Hear Something? and Down Town are separate from Fighter Mastery and remain usable once acquired.

You Hear Something?

Unlock Requirement: Seasonal Store

  • PlayStation: ⬅️➡️🔺
  • Xbox: ⬅️➡️🅨
  • Nintendo Switch: ⬅️➡️🅧

Final Hit: Scream
Additional Condition: Hold Front Punch during the Final Hit.

Sindel unleashes Scream at the opponent and uses the sonic attack to rupture both of their ears before they collapse.

You Hear Something? has an unusual history. An AI-controlled Sindel was seen performing the Scream Brutality months before the Khaos Reigns Brutality update, at a time when players had not yet discovered a usable input for it. The finished version now activates from Scream while Front Punch is held.

Down Town

Unlock Requirement: Seasonal Store

  • PlayStation: ⬅️ + 🅧
  • Xbox: ⬅️ + 🅐
  • Nintendo Switch: ⬅️ + 🅑

Final Hit: Ascending The Throne
Additional Condition: Hold Forward during the Final Hit.

Sindel lands Ascending The Throne and destroys both of the opponent’s lower legs. The force launches the victim away as their shattered legs are left behind.

Down Town uses a single Back + Front Kick normal attack, making it Sindel’s shortest character-specific Brutality input. Holding Forward during the connecting strike is the only additional execution requirement.
