Silent Hill fans on Xbox have just been handed an early Black Friday gift. Konami has quietly dropped the Silent Hill 2 remake onto Xbox Series X|S today, confirming the long-rumoured release and matching it with a hefty launch discount. It is available on the Xbox Store right now, and the timing could not be better for anyone who skipped last year’s PS5 and PC version.
Bloober Team’s remake originally arrived in October 2024 and surprised a lot of long-time fans by modernising the classic without stripping away its tone. It kept James Sunderland’s slow descent into the fog intact, but rebuilt the game with new character models, updated environments and an overhauled audio mix that made exploration feel even more oppressive. At the time, many expected the console exclusivity to be temporary, and ratings board sightings over the last few weeks all but confirmed the Xbox launch was close.
In my Silent Hill 2 Remake Xbox Series X Review, I said the Series X version was the best way to play it. The 60 fps performance mode, sharper image and steady frame pacing made it noticeably smoother than PS5 or the Ally X, and I also pointed out how the atmosphere, sound work and character writing still set it apart from more action-focused horror remakes.
The release also folds neatly into Konami’s Black Friday plans. Silent Hill 2 is currently up to 50 percent off on Xbox and PC, with the full Black Friday price drop landing on 25 November. If you have been holding off on buying the remake, this is the lowest entry point so far. Konami says the exact percentage can vary by region, so prices on the Microsoft Store may differ depending on location.
There is also a limited-time bundle that pairs Silent Hill 2 with Silent Hill f, the newer 1960s Japan instalment that launched earlier this year. That bundle can reach up to 30 percent off depending on the storefront.
Silent Hill f itself is discounted separately, sitting at 30 percent off on PlayStation and 20 percent off on Xbox, with Steam, Epic and GOG joining the sale from 25 November. It is the first time Silent Hill f has received a price reduction.
Konami is making a clear push to get more eyes on the series across all platforms. Silent Hill f received Patch 1.10 earlier this month, adding a gentler difficulty setting, skippable segments for New Game Plus and a round of polish fixes aimed at repeat playthroughs. With the Silent Hill 2 remake now expanding to Xbox, it puts both modern titles in a healthy position heading into next year’s Return to Silent Hill film adaptation.
For Xbox players, this is the ideal time to revisit one of horror gaming’s most important stories, especially with a discount that effectively removes the last barrier to entry. Silent Hill 2 has never been an easy ride, but its arrival on a new platform gives millions more the chance to walk back into the fog.
