Key Highlights:

  • PEGI has leaked an unannounced Life is Strange sequel titled Life is Strange: Reunion for PS5.
  • The rating describes plot details involving Max and Chloe, plus themes of drugs, hallucinations, and strong language.
  • The listing was quickly removed, adding weight to the leak, but no official announcement exists yet.

A new Life is Strange game appears to have slipped out early. A listing from Europe’s PEGI ratings board briefly revealed a sequel titled Life is Strange: Reunion, published by Square Enix and targeting a PEGI 16 rating. Although the entry has since been removed from PEGI’s public site, cached and mirrored versions remain visible through outlets such as Gematsu.

According to the listing text, Reunion centres on Chloe Price, who arrives at Caledon University haunted by “nightmares and impossible memories.” She seeks help from Max Caulfield, but Max is described as already being in crisis, with a deadly campus inferno set to erupt in three days. The plot setup reads like a direct follow-up to past games, and the rating notes that Reunion includes a recap of earlier series events, including violent scenes involving gunshot wounds and burning buildings.

The PEGI description also outlines some of the content triggers that pushed Reunion into 16-rated territory. The game reportedly features illegal drug use, hallucination sequences, implied violence, and explicit language including “fuck.” One scene detailed from the rating describes a party in which the player is offered wine, takes a sip, and later realises they have been spiked, leading to visual distortions and hallucinations. The listing also mentions purchasable cosmetic outfits and a digital deluxe upgrade.

Amazon Prime Video has given the green light for a Life is Strange live-action series adaption. It’s currently in development and we’ll keep you up to date on any stories in the coming months.

From a continuity standpoint, the ratings leak fits neatly inside the broader Life is Strange timeline. Life is Strange: Double Exposure released in late 2024, teased Max’s future involvement, and was developed by Deck Nine, the studio behind Before the Storm and True Colors. Reporting last year suggested Deck Nine was already working on a follow-up, though the studio faced layoffs shortly after Double Exposure shipped. Reunion’s reappearance of Max and Chloe strongly suggests this is that continuation.

If accurate, the leak would also mark the first numbered-adjacent entry designed specifically for PS5, though the PEGI page did not list other platforms before it was pulled. Historically, the series has shipped on PC and Xbox alongside PlayStation, so it would be surprising if this were a true single-platform release.

As always with ratings-board leaks, the absence of an official announcement does not diminish credibility. Boards like PEGI, ESRB, and GRAC regularly publish final classifications months before marketing reveals, and the swift takedown only fuels expectations that Square Enix is preparing to unveil the project soon.

Given the description, tone, and returning cast, Reunion looks positioned as a story-driven sequel aimed squarely at long-time fans.

At present, Life is Strange: Reunion remains unannounced, unconfirmed, and unrevealed – but the paper trail has already given players quite a lot to chew on.
