MAVRIX is leaving Early Access behind on 16 July 2026, with developer Third Kind Games and publisher Cascade Interactive confirming the full 1.0 release will launch simultaneously on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Better still for subscribers, the MAVRIX Xbox Game Pass release will be available on day one, marking the first time the game has joined Microsoft’s subscription service.
The full release represents the biggest update the mountain biking simulator has received since entering Early Access in July 2025. Built with guidance from professional rider and Red Bull athlete Matt Jones, version 1.0 introduces several major gameplay additions while incorporating player feedback gathered throughout the past year. Take a look at the global release trailer below:
One of the headline features is the arrival of Head-to-Head multiplayer modes, allowing up to four riders to compete live in downhill races or slopestyle events. Players can also tackle the new Daily Rivals system, which matches them against similarly ranked competitors each day, rewarding successful runs with bonus experience to speed up progression.
The update also expands the game’s trail selection with nine race trails, eleven slopestyle courses and additional freeride routes. Alongside the new content, players can expect smoother trick animations thanks to a revised prediction system, while a new Time of Day option makes it possible to ride under different lighting conditions, including the popular Golden Hour setting.
Matt Jones described the launch as a significant milestone after a year of community involvement.
“Reaching 1.0 and launching on Game Pass is a huge moment for us. We’ve worked hard to make the riding feel right, that sense of flow, freedom, and control that defines mountain biking.”
Xbox players will also benefit from Xbox Play Anywhere, allowing progress and save data to transfer seamlessly between Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC and compatible handheld devices, including the ROG Ally.
MAVRIX places a strong emphasis on authentic riding physics across its 100km² open world, combining downhill racing, freeride exploration, trick competitions and career progression inspired by professional mountain biking. Real-world brands feature throughout the game, while players can even work towards becoming a sponsored Red Bull athlete through the in-game progression system.
After spending several hours with the Early Access version, what impressed me most was how naturally the riding captures the feeling of flowing down technical trails. The physics occasionally produced inconsistent landings and I felt some camera angles could be improved, but the atmosphere, satisfying sense of speed and Rob Warner’s energetic race commentary kept drawing me back for “just one more run”. If the improvements introduced in version 1.0 address some of those rough edges, the full release could be a significant step forward.
A cool little fact about the game, is it was funded by the British Government, which is something that you don’t see too often in video games these days.
MAVRIX launches on 16 July 2026 for PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. It will retail for £29.95 / $39.99 and will also be available through Xbox Game Pass on day one.
